Reader: They/Them
Loki: He/Him
The concrete scrapes my arms when the beast knocks me back, and some debris from food vendors falls atop, creating minor scratches. I tossed the wood off and stood, watching as some guards tossed ropes over the dire bear in the town square. I glared and stepped forward, watching as Loki continued to hold one of the successful ties around the beast's head, successfully restraining its mouth "Gee I wonder why Valheim's precious mascot is tearing up precious homes... And why do you reek of magic," I wafted my hand in an attempt to get the sulfur smell away. He cleared his throat "I do magic. I can smell magical for days." "You smell like sulfur." "Teleportation to other realms is illegal, Dýrs-hjarta*" he said coyly with a wink. I giggled and winked back "Of course, my prince" I murmured, trying to ignore how fluttery his name for me makes me feel, stepping over to Thor "He is angry" I stated, Thor rolled his eyes "Excellent Beast Tamer well done" he chided. I raised my hands beginning to walk away when he reached over and took my arm "Wai-wai-wait, Beast Master please," he said sweet as honey.
I waved my arms and rolled up my sleeves "See, was that so hard?" I held out my hands, shushing the beast gently. He seemed to still his movements as I approached but his eyes darted around wildly terrified, I tried to go slow as possible. He tried to lock eyes with me but I avoided it, looking down as I gently approached keeping myself calm and cool.
One little sneeze and it all falls apart.
The beast snaps her head free and starts swiping her paws, the guards were quick enough thankfully. I hightailed it out of there but she doesn't like that, the backside of her paw meets my body (shattering most things from my chin to my pelvis, just for an idea of size) sending me through what feels like 5 walls. My ears are ringing, and I can't feel much except a cold and smooth sensation scattered through my body.
"Dýrs-hjarta!"
"Speak to us!"
"She didn't exit this wall!"
"Dýrs! Now would be a good time to run that lovely mouth!"
I can hear Loki shrieking for me to talk, and I try to but all I can muster is a weak cough "She's under the fireplace!" he yells. I can feel things being moved off me, the cold and smooth surfaces on top of my head are lighter, and I can clearly hear the sound of wood clattering to the floor "Loki, the house is coming down!" Thor yells from close by. When I feel the wind touch my forehead I finally look up, I can see Loki, he's peering down from a small opening, like a cellar window. He widens his eyes "Dyrs, reach for me!" he winces with the clatter of wood on his back, when I try to reach my arms feel like they're on fire, and I don't dare look down. I shook my head as the wood clattered faster now, he cursed and reached, try as he might he could only reach my neck.
I force myself to take a deep breath and sit up straight, my whole body matched my arms cut for cut, but I manage to put my throat on his palm. He widens his eyes, I only glared as the debris fell upon him "I trust you" I said, he nodded and rolled his lips "With all your might, push the rocks off... I'm only agreeing because I am going to heal you. Okay? You're going to pass out and come back, understand?" he demanded more than asked, locking my eyes. I nodded, trying to pump myself up for the inevitable, and tried pushing the debris off me, it burns for a second before he has me out, and fast as it happened, I was out.

When I come too there's no sensation except for the silk I feel wrapped around my body, a wonderfully stark contrast to the seething pain I remembered. I can open my eyes enough to discern that I'm in the healing ward, similar to the palace infirmary but for more intensive wounds. As the sensation returns I feel a scarf around my neck and tug it away, it's too early in the summer for anything. I turn my head hearing someone step in and see the head nurse, she enters with a bowl of water and a cloth "Oh, you're awake" she said. I go to speak when she stops me "Oh no, while you're mostly healed there's still one injury that's hindering our progress," she said. She sets down the tray "What happened?" I asked "I remember the bear" she nodded "The bear wasn't happy, but it's back on Valheim, safe and sound." she said. She handed me a glass of water "Drink slowly" she urges, and honestly I'm damn thirsty, I drink as she grabs a mirror from the tray she brought. I basically empty the glass and hand it back "The bear sent you through a couple of buildings, Prince Loki was able to fish you out of the rubble" she said.
