I take off the bandage, the enormous amount of blood visibly absorbed into it.
I switch it out again, even though I'm not sure how it's even still bleeding. I wince every time there's pressure applied.
Stupidly, I didn't go anywhere else but the store and home. I only went to get bandages.
Although, I'm still pissed. I can't believe that whore.
I open my contacts, and call the contact riles 🍁. Riley Morgan, my new best friend, and supposedly Casey's "sworn enemy." Bullshit.
It rings. Once. Twice. Three times before he picks up.
"She fucking stabbed me, man." He doesn't know yet. I haven't told anyone...There's a long pause before he answers.
"...What? What the fuck do you mean? What's going on?" He asks, concerned. "Your pity ass girlfriend!" I yell at him.
I probably shouldn't, but my blood is boiling right now just thinking about it.
"Who are you talki—don't tell me you mean Casey. She is not my girlfriend. Don't call her that, Jesse. You know how I feel about her."
He acts as if I killed his whole family. Dramatic.
"Okay, yeah, well, she stabbed me. I need you to do something about it." He sighs like a disappointed, alcoholic father.
"How did this even happen?!" He asks me, his voice getting louder.
I told him that I walked in her house and started an argument.
I might've told him that she shoved a knife in my face, threatening me, and I told her I didn't want to start anything; I just wanted to talk it out, and let her know I was upset and why.
He believed me. He'll think she's crazy.
I also said that she just stabbed me on the spot with absolutely no reason, and I ran out screaming—which I actually did.
He hung up after that, and I could tell he didn't know what to do.
I don't hear from him for an unusual while.

I put my car in park, opening the car door and the fuel tank door.
I pay for the gas as quickly as I can, pumping it into the car.
I watch the birds fly by as my phone buzzes with a text.
I sigh and the sun stings in my eyes.
I pull my phone out my pocket and see that the text is from my mother. I was hoping for Riley.
I open her message and it reads: "Nick's dead. He's gone." My eyes widen and my expression drops.
Thank God my tank is full, so I quickly pull the gas pump out and put it back in place.
I waste no time to get in my car and haul it down the road. Cops can go fuck themselves right now.

I make it to the nearest hospital, the one which they always go to. 'They' being my mother, my brother, and usually my father: Nick.
I park the car and quickly run in, stumbling up to the front desk.
"I need to see Nick Rowan." She hisses a breath in and sighs before replying.
"He was pronounced dead on arrival a few hours ago... The mother and son are in his room though: room 202."
