Riley Hargreeves is a 16-year-old girl with 150 IQ who has the power to control and travel through time. She is able to teleport through various distances, which she often used to get out of the way of dangerous objects and sneak up on people. She was born on October 1, 2006 and grew up in a family of 8 children who were all born on the same day but not the same year. The Hargreeves siblings born in 1997 in "immaculate conception" mode like 45 other infants, the 7 brothers and sisters of Riley with superpowers were adopted by the wealthy Sir Reginald Hargreeves. The latter planned to make them a recognized band of superheroes capable of saving the world and founded the Umbrella Academy.

But the years go by. One of them dies on a mission, another disappears mysteriously and the family members end up separating... Until their father's death in 2019, which marks their reunion.

When Riley was eight years old, she argued with her father because he wouldn't let her use her time-traveling powers. After the argument, she left and used her abilities but went too far into the future. She ended up in a post-apocalyptic future and was stuck there for four years. During those years, she met her brother Five, who had been stuck in the same apocalyptic future for 43 years after disobeying their father. Later, Riley and Five met a woman named The Handler who was a high-ranking and influential member of The Commission who offered them a job as assassins in the commission.

(The Commission is an organization that oversees and manages the space-time continuum. Its main mission is to ensure that all events that are supposed to happen do happen. To do this, it has agents ready to travel through time and eliminate anyone who poses a threat to their work. Agents are assigned their tasks by the Commission's leadership. Tasks are assigned to agents using pneumatic tubes. Their residence is the year 1955). Five and Riley accepted because it was their only way back to their time. A few months later, Riley and Five tried to find the calculations to return home and warn their family that the end of the world was approaching. When they found a way back to 2019, Five's body regressed to that of his 13-year-old self while his consciousness was 58. As a result, he has the personality of a mature man frustrated at being trapped in a child's body. After all this, Riley and her family tried to save the world.

The first time, Vanya (Riley's sister) runs away after killing Pogo (their butler) who knew about the abuse she had suffered and destroyed the mansion. The other family members are powerless and Diego (Riley's brother) sees Grace (their mother) let herself be destroyed in the collapse. The survivors regroup and Five and Riley understand that the apocalypse will be caused by Vanya, with Harold Jenkins only being the one who freed her. They flee the police and take refuge in a bowling alley to establish the next steps. Five and Riley are lured to the motel by The Handler and realize too late that it was a trap: she wanted to distract him to allow the apocalypse. The family is still pursued by soldiers and they flee to the concert hall where Vanya is supposed to perform. Hazel, convinced that The Handler will not keep her promise, injures Cha-Cha and leaves for his beloved before killing The Handler without hesitation.

The concert begins and the family fails to neutralize Vanya who begins to deploy her power. The Commission's soldiers intervene and Klaus's powers finally allow Ben (the dead brother) to use his tentacles to kill them. Allison shoots next to Vanya's head to divert her power which hits the Moon instead of devastating Earth. Unfortunately, the satellite explodes and debris hits Earth, beginning to destroy it. Five and Riley then use their powers to rewind time for the whole group, hoping to prevent Vanya's trauma.

The second time, the Hargreeves siblings found themselves in Dallas a few years apart in the 1960s. Five and Riley try to find them to stop a new apocalyptic threat following a nuclear conflict. And as usual, the group is completely scattered. Luther is a bodyguard, Diego is interned in a psychiatric hospital, Allison is an activist for civil rights, Klaus is the leader of a hippie cult and Vanya is the only one who has lost all her memories. After being hit by a car upon her arrival in 1963, she works on an isolated farm and has found a girlfriend: Sissy. Five and Riley try to reunite the siblings to prevent a new apocalypse that will take place in a week and could be linked to the assassination of John Kennedy on November 22, 1963. They manage to convince their brothers and sisters to ally against the end of the world despite their attachment to their new life in the past.

But The Handler has a plan to stop the Hargreeves family by using her adopted daughter Lila, who has the extraordinary ability to replicate anyone's power, to infiltrate the group. Specifically Diego, who becomes very attached to her.

The time for the final battle has finally arrived. The Hargreeves family faces three problems. The first is that Vanya transferred some of her fabulous powers to Sissy's son Harlan in an attempt to save him from certain death, but he finds himself unable to handle them. The second is that The Handler has called an entire army to kill the Hargreeves siblings. The third is that Lila and her ability to copy their abilities give our team a lot of trouble. Three problems that will be almost all solved by Riley in a few seconds of time travel. The army is defeated, The Handler is killed and Lila escapes at the last minute.

The third time, after multiple confrontations, the Hargreeves manage to return to 2019, our time. But of course, their detour through the 60s had repercussions on their reality. Thus, they find themselves facing a completely different reality. Their father, Reginald Hargreeves, is not dead. The Umbrella Academy never existed and instead they find themselves face to face with the Sparrow Academy, composed of other superheroes. The only face they recognize is Ben's, still alive, who seems to have no memory of them.

This happened because Reginald Hargrevaes decided to choose another group of superpowered children after meeting the Umbrellas in the 60s and was disappointed by them (he still recruits Ben because he was not alive when they met). Hargreeves' plan was finally revealed because he was an alien who needed the seven children to enter the Obsidian Hotel (the Obsidian Hotel is where the Hargreeves siblings decided to live because they had nowhere else to go), which hid the key to resetting the universe.

The Obsidian Hotel machine appears to be an ancient alien console. He also needed seven individuals with powers that could be drained to help reset the universe. Probably when Ben died in the original timeline, Hargreeves realized that his plan would never come true, explaining his additional detachment and eventual death. Now, however, he had everything he needed and was manipulating his children from both timelines even more to achieve his goal.

It all ends with Reginald Hargreeves living in another universe after resetting the universe despite the fact that Alison killed him before. Now he controls the city and maybe the world. He overlooks the city in a giant tower alongside a woman: Abigail Hargreeves. Abigail who is Reginald Hargreeves' wife. It was she who gave Reginald the urge to give someone special (which eventually went to Viktor). It seems that Reginald's plan from the beginning, from adopting the umbrellas to training them to siphon their power to reset the universe, was to bring someone he loves back to life.

I'm sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language. I would also like to let you know that in this story, I have changed the history of the Hargreeves family a bit, and I have not explained the whole story and I have not talked much about the characters, so it may not be very clear. But if you want to understand the series for those who don't know it, I recommend watching it because it's amazing.

I also want to say that this is the first time in my life that I have written a story and published it publicly, so please be kind and understanding.

I study in France and over there, school ends at 5pm, and on top of that, I have end-of-year exams, so I have a lot of revision to do, but I will try to make an effort to post often."
