Jack's pov

"I already said that though." I said sticking out my bottom lip like a sad little kid.

Emily laughed, before playfully hitting my arm.

"It was better when I said it." She teased.

I rolled my eyes, as we sat down on her couch.

She pulled her hair into a messy ponytail, and threw her legs onto my lap.

I began to slowly rub my hand up and down her leg, but just in a soothing way.

"So, how's ashton been? Like you know with his anger problems." I began.

She sighed before speaking, "I honestly don't know. Like one day he's in such a great mood and the next day I feel like he's gonna pound my face ground if I breathe too close to him."

She looked up at the ceiling, and closed her eyes.

"I mean, I know he's getting help. But I don't know how much longer I can wait." She finally finished.

I gently took her legs off my lap, before moving closer to her.

I brought my fingers to the top of her head, and made her look at me.

"I'm saying this because I'm your best friend, and I just want to be honest with you.." I started.

She looked at me, signaling to continue.

"Fuck Emily, he's not good for you at all. I've told you so many times before. You're an amazing girl, and he's the total opposite. But then again, I see the way you look at him, and the way you light up at the mention of his voice." I finished.

Her eyes got really watery and she blinked back the tears that were forming.

I admired how beautiful she was, and how she literally had no flaws. Emily slowly grabbed my hand, placing it in her lap and began to play with my fingers.

"I hate to see you sometimes, with bruises and marks on your body. You don't have to say it Em, I know what he does to you." I spoke.

A tear rolled down her cheek, and landed right on my palm.

She began to light sob, as she continued fiddling with my fingers.

We sat in silence for a couple minutes. Every couple seconds a sigh would come from her lips.

I loved to watch as she entertained herself with my hands. She was so calm and focused, I could feel her gentle heart beat since she was now leaning against me. I took a stand of her hair and placed in behind her ear before lightly kissing her cheek.

"I'm sorry if you didn't like what I had to say. I just, I had to let it out."
