"Target's advancing." I heard James' voice say over my earpiece.

"My sights are clear." I replied.

The Cuban Communist Party was hosting an annual celebration to remember the birthday of their country. We weren't invited specifically, but we would be making quite an appearance.

I was on top of an office building with my sniper rifle set up on the roof's edge. It was miserably hot out, but during the parade procession would be the easiest time to terminate the Castro brothers. I wasn't sure why Alexander Pierce  wanted the Castro brothers killed, but I didn't get to ask questions. I just followed orders.

Thousands of people lined the street to watch the festivities. Being a communist country, the parade was military. The floats with topped with missiles and bombs, surrounded by marching cuban soldiers. I kept watching until I saw a group of what looked like secret service agents around the corner.

"Target's advancing now. Taking position." As I said that I loaded a round into the chamber and squared my sights.

A long black convertible rounded the corner and sitting in the back seat were both Castro brothers. I was to take the one on the right, and James was to get the left one. This was the only time the brothers could be seen in public together, so we had to make it count.

"On three?" He asked over the earpiece.

"Copy" I said. I was laying so still I could feel my heartbeat move my entire body, and in turn, my rifle, so I had to make sure to pull my trigger on the right beat.

"One." Tha-thump. "Two." Tha-thump. "Three." Tha-thump.

Bang!

We pulled our triggers at the same time and kept into action. We had only seconds untill people realized what happened.

"Lights out." James told me. I nodded and knelt down on the roof to release an EMT. The whole city went dark.

"Hurry up and change. We have to get out of here." I said. The screaming had already begun. We ripped off our black ninja suits to reveal our local clothes. Our plan was to run away with the crowds until we got out of the city. We each shoved our black clothes into our colorful woven backpacks and started moving.

We repelled down the wall in record speed and started running north. The streets were dark. The goal now was just to look like a horrified pedestrian.

We found the nearest mass of panicked people and started running with them. There was shouting from the local authorities but all the vehicles in the area were fried, so they couldn't do much if they wanted to. It would be at least ten minutes before any functioning vehicles were able to get in, let alone, push through the crowds.

It took a little while, but eventually we made it the five miles or so to the coast. It was still completely dark out, so I was praying we made it to the right pier. My worries melted away however, when James hit a button on his wrist and a mass of bubbles appeared in the water in front of us. Slowly, our little submarine poked up out of the water and invited us on.

We lept into the manhole up top and almost immediately after, sealed the door and submerged again. I let out a sigh of relief. "It's over."

"Not just yet." He said, sliding into the driver's seat. "We're still in Cuban waters. We need to leave."

I nodded and slipped into the seat next to his. We had a long ride to get to our next point of transportation. "Let's drop a gear and disappear." I said. It was an expression I used quite often, even if we were in a watercraft where it really didn't make sense.
