I was so excited to do the right thing. I always hated troubles and I was pretty much confident about this. I patiently waited for the bell to ring and saw Hilary go out of their room. When I saw her walking out of the door, I immediately advanced towards her. She was also lonely and miserable (I mean in my opinion; you could see it in her eyes!) like me.
“Hey.” I tried to stretch my lips with all the best that I could. However, she made no reply.
“Umm. I want to end this. Here’s smores! Um,” I really didn’t know what to say. “I.,” I was about to panic because I really felt uncomfortable. “I made these for you.” Oooops. Here goes a lie.
“Thanks! So are you free,” She finally smiled!
Then, Diana entered the pleasurable scenario.
“Hey girl! Catch ‘ya later!” She walked past me with her rude eyes.
“Well. I have to go. Bye. See you around.” I couldn’t believe I had made it; too bad Diana ruined the whole thing!
I breathed deeply that if only I can scream out loud. My heart felt light! I went to my Mathematics class (Last subject) joyfully. Mister Campbell was sort of happy with the results of our surprise test. Why? I got an “A-“ ! It wasn’t bad for someone who tries to recover from a heartache. After the class, I went out of the room with a smile.
As I walked along the corridor, someone slapped my face. The slap that I felt reminded me of what happened a week ago. Sure it was her.
“How dare you b****!” She yelled so loud that everyone along the hallway heard it.
“Whoa! What did I do this time? Don’t you even know the word SHAME?” I really didn’t want to play games with her but I couldn’t help it. Mister Campbell witnessed what happened. I was surprised to see him staring at both of us with a disappointed look. His arms were crossed together and he was tapping his right foot. And the next scenario was the usual place. Guidance Counselor’s office.
“Oh my goodness! What happened!” Miss Underwood was more than horrified.
“Have you seen her? You don’t know how much trouble you had caused her!” Diana didn’t mind Ms. Underwood and as soon as we sat face to face in front of Miss Underwood’s desk, she interrogated me.
“I don’t know what you are talking about! You are the one who started the trouble!” I cannot just let Diana “bully” me.
“How dare you! You are insane!”
“What did I do? I was just trying to make peace with her. It’s like I killed her in front of you with the way you react.”
“Well, it’s worse than that!”
I definitely didn’t know what Diana was talking about. Miss Underwood was about to freak out.
“Alright. Girls, please settle down.”
“How am I supposed to settle down Miss Underwood? How?! ”
“I don’t understand you Diana.” I was trying to calm down.
“She’s allergic to milk! She’s lactose intolerant!” The moment she spoke those words, I was still and frozen.
“The Smores.” I whispered to myself. “But I didn’t know. She never told me that.”
“That’s the point. You see, Miss Underwood. She’s a liar!”
“Calm down. Kyra, what is she talking about?”
“The pink smores. I gave them to Hilary.” I had calmly said as I was about to cry.
“She can hardly breathe! At first we went to the bathroom. Then, she had asked me not to follow. I left her and when I had returned after half an hour, she was lying on the floor! She was breathing rapidly and after a while, she was breathing slowly. Her face was red yet pale!”
