His death didn't affect people as much as Kat's death. No one knew him, he didn't have family, and as he said he was just waiting to die. In fact, it was good he died, now they knew more than before.
- They both died after their names got said. -The boyfriend was right, and now they could avoid more deaths, right?
- We can give each other code names maybe? -It was a good idea, but they should be frightened, two people had just died. How were they being so rational at a time like this? This is what made them special, which is not always a good thing- Katherine would be "The first" because she was the first to die, Gareth could be "The elder" since he was the oldest and so on.
Everyone remained silent for a while before he broke the silence.
- Do I introduce myself now? -The man doubtfully asked. Some people nodded in approval- I'm...The man, I am 39 years old and happily married with two kids. The girl is 12 and the boy is 16. -No reaction from the public.
The mother and the boyfriend looked at each other, trying to guess who was older. "I'm 27" he finally said. And so the mother started the introduction.
- I'm The mother -She started, looking at her child- I'm 35 and a single mother with one kid.
The two older ones were rather simple, or they at least pretended they were. If they were in a group picture nobody would look at them first. just like the perfect extras.
The boyfriend and the girlfriend were next.
- I'm The boyfriend, I guess. I'm 27 and just now I was heading to a job interview.
- I'm The girlfriend, I'm 26 and I work as a waitress, though, right now, I was accompanying him to the interview.
Everyone looked at the boyfriend's clothes. He was supposed to go to an interview, but dressing like he was, he would have never gotten the job. Even the group of teens were dressing more adequately than him. Obviously, no one said that out loud, they just continued.
- I'm a she so I guess I could be The she? -The man had been thinking for a while what their code names would be, they couldn't all be "The friend"- I'm 16 and I'm from France.
That explains why she had that accent. You'd expect French people to dress elegantly with a light color palette, but she was the complete opposite. All of the friend group had the same "vibe", except for the next one to talk, the androgynous one, who probably had P.E. that day and had to wear sports clothes.
- I'm The they, following what she said, I'm 15, soon to be 16 -their friends smiled, they were probably the type to count down the seconds to their birthday. Their age might have been an internal joke, but none of them could laugh that much given the situation- And I don't think there is much to tell about my life.
They still had their headphones on, they refused to take them off. The man hadn't met The they long ago, but while he could relate most people there with an object or concept he thought would fit their personality, he was only able to describe them with headphones. Were they really that uninteresting? Why were they here then?
- I'm The he -A voice interrupted The man's thoughts- I'm 15 and right now I don't have anything else to say.
Just as The they, except he didn't look like an extra, at all. The way he dressed and looked stood out. He was also very tense, you could tell by looking at his shoulders. Would he open up? The man didn't think so, he probably has never opened up about something. At least it seemed like it.
- I'm also a he, so I'll be The other -That seemed like the typical nickname a protagonist of a suspense movie would have- I'm 15 and I'm from Portugal.
