Meanwhile unaware of what was happening back at the castle. Robin and Richard bravely continued to adventure into the depths of Sherwood forest.

Both were quiet for a while and the King only spoke up as they approached the arching canopy of forest in front of them.

"I noticed Marian followed you to the stables before our departure", the King smirked, she didn't seem herself was she okay?"

This caught Robin slightly off guard.

"Oh yes she was just worried about us leaving that's all." Robin blushed.

"You mean worried about you?"

"Oh um maybe..."

"Haha I'm just teasing Robin, but I have seen you spend a lot of time with each other recently, and can tell my cousin has taken a real shine to you. I just wanted to say how I couldn't of thought of a better match for her than you, or think of anyone more willing to protect her, my friend."

"Oh, well thank you sire", Robin responded bashfully unsure how else to respond.

"Anyways, I do hope our guests are all ok, and no one was injured from standing on the bridge at the time it collapsed." The king spoke allowed as he tried to change the subject, though he was concerned for his people. "I especially hope Lord Goodfrud wasn't effected too badly by the incident, since he could very well accuse me for a set up, and declare war.

"Ermm yes", Robin replied trying to come up with a smart way to inform Richard what was really happening.

"Actually sire, I have to admit I don't think anyone's going to be at the bridge."

"Well I suppose they all could have turned around by now but-."

"No- I mean I have reason to believe that their was no accident, and this was a set up to leer us into the forest alone." The archer explained.

"Oh I see, and what leads you to believe this?"

"Back at the castle I overheard how this was just a distraction to drive us out of the castle, so when we approached the river, we would be ambushed ."

"And who did you here this from?"

Robin paused and sighed.

"Prince John."

Richard was slightly shocked.

"Robin this again, I really don't know why you and John can't get along, don't you think your over thinking this."

"Sadly not my King, truthfully I overheard him communicating with the sheriffs sons in secret. He wants to get rid of us, leaving the country and crown defenceless, and then plans to wed off Marian to secure his succession right."

"*sigh* I'm not sure what to believe Robin, but either way this does sound quite troubling whether true or not, do you have a plan?"

"Yes sire, if it's okay with you, all we have to do for now is play along as if we know nothing, if we are able to gain some proof and answers. Then I have some back up ready to step in."

"I trust you my friend, let's get to the bottom of this mystery."

Robin's suspicions were correct. As the duo approached the untouched bridge that arched over the main river. They were met by three intimidating male figures blocking their way. They were all dressed in black from head to toe. Who appeared to look like a more intimidating version of the local brigands.

"Right on time huh boys." One spoke.

"What is the meaning of this!" Richard echoed.

"Just following orders, that's all", another grinned.
