Brooklynn (Pov)

Marching through the cave I didn't know where we were going only that it must be somehow to the outside.

Ellie gasped hearing something "Did you feel that? It's an air current. Must be an opening up ahead" 

Alan held the torch up to light up the path "How old is this mine. do you think?" 

"Just breathe" Ellie touched Alan's shoulder "Nobody panic. Just watch out for bats" 

"I hate bats" Maisie stated

Rain whimpered scared "I want Dad I'm scared" 

"It's okay" I whispered trying to keep her calm

Maisie turned to Rain She unhooked a bracelet and wrapped it round her wrist "A good..." She paused appearing to blush "...Gave this to me if i'm ever nervous or scared it helps calm me down" 

"Well, there's probably no bats. No falling rocks. Disposability of toxic gas, dehydration, hypothermia, just possibilities nothing for certain" Ellie listed them off glancing at Alan "I should have left you where you were. Why did I bring you into this? You were happy in your element"

 "What? Ellie" Alan put an end to Ellie's rambling

"What?" she said

"I wasn't happy" He stated

Ellie's slightly gasped "You weren't?"

"do you guys have kids" Maisie randomly asked

"what?" Alan asked confused

Ellie looked dumbfounded "Uh, I do. Two"

"But not with him?" Maisie shined the light in Alan's direction

"No, uh. just old friends" Ellie responded clearly trying to hide their feelings

We kept on walking as Maisie stayed by side holding Rain's other hand when i got curious "so, tell me about the friend?"

Maise blushed from the question "Uh, his name is Christopher, but he prefers Chris" 

"How'd you meet?" I asked

"At my grandfather's estate" Maisie blushed harder "Chris saved my life and i don't think i'll ever be able to repay him for that"

I chuckled patting her shoulder.

"they sound like they're in love" Rain blurted out causing Maisie to start laughing 

Third Person (Pov)

 A password is entered into a garage lock and it is opened to reveal Ramsey and Malcolm who enter trying to remain quiet.

"Won't be long till Security knows your gone" Ramsey stated

Ramsey gets out a map and lays it on the table Malcolm grumbled "Old map, is there a new one?"

 Ramsey ignored his question "There's an access gate at the northeast corner of the mine. If your friends make it out to you"

"If?" Malcolm stared at him

Ramsey changed his tone "When they make it out"

"Yes, sir" Malcolm cheered

"That's where they'll be" Ramsey pointed as he went over to a box getting out a key and tossing to Malcolm who took off his jacket.

"These roads are protected, right?" Malcolm asked

"Uh yeah, I drive fast" Ramsey informed 

Malcolm gets into one of the vehicles and starts it up only to drive backwards and hit the table. he glanced at Ramsey "You did good"
