Scrolling through Instagram, I noticed the sudden popularity of the novel 'It Ends with Us' by Colleen Hoover. I don't follow Booktok/Bookstagram that frequently so I may not be aware of the actual story but with everyone (my acquaintances too) commenting on how the book is good, the characters are perfect etc., my mind raced to think that what if someone didn't like it but is scared to comment to avoid getting bashed by the fans?

What if someone wanted to know more about the story, their thoughts, and their struggles but all they ever got were the romanticised reels and posts?

Romance is a popular genre, so with its gigantic domination in the paper and online kingdom, are other genres not given enough limelight?

Yes, all writers work day and night to create magical stories but are they often given enough recognition and due?

I might be wrong (praying this is true) but nowadays, reading has become a trend instead of a hobby and the best way to end this part is by a quote I saw in someone's story:

"To speak the absolute truth, you either have to be anonymous or dead."
