Mermaids wearing abalone,
Sirens singing their woeful tune,
Sea serpents swallowing whole crews,
Sunken ships sailing under the full moon.Never before in those stories of valiance,
Did they mention how things'd turn out.
Never did they emph'sise how little we can do,
After what they told me about.CO2 seeps into the waves,
Of this I hear not very often,
As it offsets the bases and acids
Sending our planet to an early coffinThese are not the whispers of senile fishermen,
But the promises of our mistakes
Gone are the illusions of folk tales,
Chased off as hubris awakes.Ocean acidification,
The title of this horrible beast,
The natural buffers are not enough,
And it might not end after we are deceased. But once again, I think of those
Sirens singing their woeful tune,
While calcium carbonate dissolves oysters, z
Those sunken ships sailing once again 'nder a full moon
While trash sits on the ocean floor,
Those numerous stories;
While our ocean dies.——————-
Made this one for a project
Not my favorite but it's ok
