A soft breeze blew my short dark brown, almost black, waves into my face. My girlfriend, Willow, stood at my side, looking out over the edge of the mountain we were standing upon. The sun glittered like snow in the morning, and the birds were singing a soft melody within their trees, waiting to find their next lover.

"Where do you think she is?" Willow asked, her voice smooth as she examined the hills, looking for any sign of life she could find. Her skin was as smooth as caramel, and was the color of milk chocolate. Her golden brown eyes had a sunny glow to them, a glow in which she must've inherited from her father, Apollo.

"I'm not sure, love. I assumed she'd be here just like Orion had been when he was revived." Willow's eyes looked to the ground.

"I miss them." Her eyes were brimmed with small tears that weren't threatening to fall, just sitting there, showing her feelings. I had felt the same.

"I do to..." I reached out and softly grabbed her soft hand, showing her that she's not alone. Willow gave me a small smile as she looked back up from the ground. "But what has happened, has happened. We've been alive for hundreds of year now, Willow. It's time we realize that even though we love our friends and see them as family...they won't always be there."

She sniffled, and her eyes were bloodshot from holding in her tears. She pulled me into a hug, and I wrapped my arms around her torso, hugging her back. I felt something wet fall onto my shoulder, and I realized that my girlfriend had started crying. By moving one of my hands to the back of her head, I tried to give her some comfort.

I hated seeing her like this. Of course I would! Who wants to see the love of their life and other half be so sad?

We stood in silence until the glow of the sun became brighter, and it became obvious it was late in the afternoon. I licked my now dry lips and pulled away gently from Willow.

"We should..." I trail off as I realized that our surroundings had changed. "Where...where are we?" I questioned as I looked around at the dark birched trees with red, orange, and yellow leaves that slowly fell to the ground as if it were autumn. The wind blew softly around us, carrying some of the leaves.

"I don't know" Willow said, looking at a small dirt trail that led to a bridge made of wood that was sitting above a beautiful lake with lily pads and flower petals floating freely. The water rippled as fish moved underneath. It was undeniably gorgeous.

I stepped toward the bridge. I heard a soft melody of birds chirping as I took another step. After putting my foot in front of the other one last time, I was on the bridge. It wasn't creaky. It was actually really stable, as if it had just recently been put there. A soft orange glow appeared at my feet as if it was mist, like a dirty floor after you stepped on it.

"Hey, Willow?" I ask for her, turning my head back to her. Her eyes were closed, and her eyebrows were knitted as if she was concentrating. I watched her curiously. Her head was tilted to the side ever so slightly, and one of her hands sat on the right side of her jaw, the side leaning toward the ground.

I turned my head to where hers was facing. Nothing was there. Then I realized she must have been hearing something. I listened, but heard nothing but the birds and cicadas.

"What do you hear, Sunshine?" I ask my girlfriend, the daughter of Apollo. Her eyes opened and she gave me a playful glare.

"Shut up, Serenity" She used my nickname from when we were just children. Now we were teenagers, 16 to be more specific.

    I rolled my eyes.

"I love you" I laugh. It was true. Willow and I had been together since we were only 13, which means three years of being with the most amazing person I knew. The only person I trusted.

Willow took a few steps forward, joining me on the bridge. She leaned against the side of it, and her face glinted a silvery color from the moon's reflection on the water. I made my way over to the side of her, also leaning on the bridge and watching the little fish jump out of the water and falling back in.

"I love you too." She said with a small smile on her face. "But we've got to find out where in Hera's butt crack we are"
