STARING AT A YOUNGER DEREK FELT LIKE COMING DOWN FROM A REALLY BAD HIGH, WHERE all you could feel was your brain buzzing inside of your head and the hair on your arms tingling. Hope wouldn't know, of course, for her father was the Sheriff and so she was child of God, but if she had to guess what doing drugs felt like for any reason at all, she would recall this moment.

Hope hadn't seen any photos of Derek...well, ever. The man hated being on camera due to the flash that streaked across his eyes, and all of the pictures he had been in ( forced ) had unfortunately been incinerated in the fire. And due to the lack of evidence, Hope had made up in her mind long ago that Derek had been born a man and that was that. He had never been a child, just a brooding, leather-wearing male with busy eyebrows. She was sure of it.

And the boy before her was not who she had been expecting to see carried out of the church. She was waiting for the emotionless tone of her old friend to threaten her brother about his driving, or throw his head into the steering wheel when his anxious rants got too much to handle, or even just a beard would have sufficed. But this bald chinned, wide eyed, silhouette of her friend was a disappointment.

"Are we certain that's Derek?" She asked, "Because you guys could have just picked up a random teen in the church who was, like, a tourist and had no clue what was going on, you know?"

Scott glanced over the sleeping figure before sighing almost sadly, "It's Derek, Hope. And I don't know why, or how this has happened."

Despite having spent the last two days in Mexico, crammed in the back of an ancient jeep and pumped with witch hazel or tortured with electricity for the latter part of the journey, the pack had decided that taking Derek to the Veterinarian was the best cause of action. Hope could not discredit this, as they could very well not abandon him in the jeep for the whole night, however, she also didn't think standing around at two A.M waiting for him to wake up was smart either when all of them had school the following morning.

Still, Deaton had agreed to come back to work at such a time to help them and it would be rude of her to complain. The man, eyes still droopy with sleep, walked around the examination table where Derek laid, a look of surprise planted on his face, "Wow." He murmured.

"Wow." Hope repeated blankly.

She wasn't good at acting grateful in bad situations. If you couldn't help out at all, then no matter how hard you tried she would still be irritated; she didn't have it in her to act so kind when something terrible was going on. And Derek Hale ( aka. mr macho man ) being a child now was the prime example of a very, very bad situation.
