"AT LEAST THE TOWN IS NICE," HAYLEY MARSHALL COMMENTED HALFHEARTEDLY AS THEY ENTERED THE POLICE STATION. It had been decided two nights after their arrival that getting information through compulsion was the best, and least obscured, way to find their daughter. And so they waited until they were all ready and off they went, with trembling hands and aching hearts. "It looks safe."

Klaus scoffed. He was perched on the now empty ( empty because he had compelled them to go away, searching for the Sheriff to give the most unbiased account of his heir ) desk with one arm sprawled across his chest, the other gripping the mahogany tightly, so tightly, in fact, that it had fractured under the weight of his strength and anger. "I've been here before, little wolf. Trust me, if Beacon Hills is anything like it was twenty six years ago then it certainly is not safe."

"What's that supposed to mean?" The mother of his child questioned, and despite the harshness with which she had all but ordered him to answer, there was an inkling of concern for Hope as well, one he understood completely. Still, he didn't feel like responding, his head turning away from her to glance around the suburban version of a station. "Klaus? What does it mean?"

He rolled his eyes, "It means, Hayley, that this place has a nemeton. Though I'm guessing by the nonchalance on your face that you do not know what that means, so allow me." Slipping off the desk so he could pace, as he always did when he wanted the attention in the room, he waved his hands around knowingly, "A nemeton is a sacred place, usually in the form of groves or trees, that excretes power. The sort of power that draws supernatural creatures in."

"So our daughter was taken for a hotspot for supernaturals."

It was not necessary for everyone in his family to join him at the station, so only Elijah and his dear Rebekah had ventured outside their tiny ( in comparison to the mansions they were used to) , house to help him. They were stood behind the parents, watching with differing emotions as Klaus and Hayley bickered, as per usual. The blonde was amused, but also exhausted with their inability, as adults, to grow the hell up and Elijah had a knowing frown on his face.

"But I also heard rumors from the werewolves I met a few years ago that the Nemeton had died." Klaus was nothing if not prepared, having done as much research as one could about the town as soon as he learned that it held his daughter, "Tell me, little wolf, does it seem to you that the Nemeton in this town has died and that it is void of supernatural creatures?" He asked, flashing his own vibrant hue.

He watched as his friend sniffed in confusion before glancing around. Though, but the way her eyes flitted from one thing to the next, it appeared she did not know what to look for. So Klaus, sending a smirk to his brother who had to conceal his anger, placed his hands on her shoulders and spun her around. The action was slow, but she groaned in irritation when she found herself still lost on the truth, "I do not know what you want from me, Klaus."

"So impatient," He tutted, "A town like this one━it's the same for New Orleans and Mystic Falls, and other hotspots━will have an aura visible only to the supernatural. Perhaps it's harder for you to see because you are not as powerful as me, but if you focus, you'll be able to sense the supernatural essence of Beacon Hills. It seems pretty strong to me for a dying Nemeton."
