Y/N's P.O.V
"Come on Y/N! We're wasting daylight over here!" Lucas called out to me. He was much further along the path than me, running ahead due to his uncontrollable excitement. I, however, was taking it easy for once. Peace had finally been restored to Roria, with the stone where it belongs and Dr Vanta in custody of the law, facing the consequences of his crime. My head was clear for the first time in a long while and I wanted to take it all in for now.
"Slow down Lucas! The movie doesn't start for another 2 hours and we're already almost in town," I remarked, maintaining my relaxed pace. The blond had stopped to wait for me to catch up; his foot tapping impatiently on the ground.
"Fine, fine. But can you blame me for being excited?" His eyes were practically lighting up as he spoke and he grabbed my hand as soon as I was next to him. "Not only are we going to see the biggest action film of the year, but this also marks the first date we're going on as an actual couple since the whole... cursed stone stuff."
I felt heat rise to to my cheeks as I intertwined our hands together, a soft smile making its way onto my lips. I still hadn't gotten used to the two of us being referred to as a 'couple'. We had only started dating recently and, with the rush of everything that had happened, our free time was limited until now. Though, I still get an occasional fan come up to me, which is still alien to me.
Me? The odd kid who had no friends apart from the loomians she talked to like they were real people... a hero?
Lucas seemed to notice I was deep in thought.
"What you thinking about N/N?" He questioned, that smile I adored present on his face.
"Oh, nothing. Just about how crazy these past few years have been... I mean, we managed to battle and defeat crazy powerful loomians and trainers, including the CEO of one of the world's most forward tech companies. As well as that, people have been admiring and idolising me, which is a sensation I'll never get used to..."
"Not to mention, we just made it official as a couple and now we're going on an actual date! Everything has just been so... wild!" I rambled on as Lucas listened attentively.
That was always one thing that kinda surprised me about him. He's so much of a blabbermouth and has the attention span of a goldfish, but when it comes to listening to the people he cares about, there's no one more focused than him.
He chuckled and squeezed my hand a little.
"Yeah, it only feels like yesterday when we first met and battled each other, yet its been years since then!" He, then, fell silent, seemingly deep in thought.
"Lucas?" I tilted my head in concern.
"You wanna know something?" He looked me straight in my eyes as he asked that question. I nodded, curious. "When we first met, I had no idea what that moment would entail for us but..."
"Somehow, I always kinda knew we would be here together. I didn't know that we'd end up falling for each other or that we'd be some kind of heroes or something but... I always knew that no matter what, we'd be together." He smiled as he finished his little speech, a look I had only be described as love was present in his eyes.
My heart felt like there was a whole party was going off in my chest and my stomach had butterflies swirling around it. Never in a million years did I think anyone would ever look at me like that, least of all him.
I smiled back at him with a similar adoration and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek.
"You know what? I always had that feeling as well," I giggled as his face turned a bright red. I guess I'm not the only one still getting used to being a couple...
"Now, let's go! I wanna go buy some snacks and stuff before the movie starts," I started dragging him by the hand at first but, as soon as he heard the word 'snacks', Lucas took off with me in tow. I laughed at his childish behaviour while also thinking:
"God, I love him..."

A lot shorter than the last one but school and exams take priority in my life. A nice, fluffy short of how I think things would go if Lucas and the player started dating...
