Chapter 2: Not What Was Planned

:Shino's POV:

  The blast goes off, my ears ring and my vision is blurry. My back hurts and I'm sitting on the floor. I see a black shield around me. It slowly disappears, showing me the destruction around the room. I also see Kol from across the room, he's pretty much in the same condition as I am.
  My memories start coming back, I remember seeing...Artemis...No. No no no no no. I start to get up as fast as I can, I wobble around trying to get up to see if I was hallucinating or not.
  "A-Artemis?!..." I cough out. The fire and smoke in here doesn't help my condition in any way. I feel pulling on my arm. It was Flex.
  "Shino! Where is Kol?! We need to get out of here!" Flex asks with panic in his voice.
  I turn to look behind me, and I see Kol standing in the middle of the room. Kol gives me a side-eye, I just look at him with wide eyes realizing if Artemis really was here, he would be extremely hurt.
  Flex runs up to Kol and starts pulling him out of the room, and once he reaches me, he starts pulling me as well.
  "No, Flex! Wait! Artemis is in there!" I yell, panicking as I try to get out of his grip.
  "What are you talking about?!" Flex says panicky as well.
  The building starts to fall apart as Flex continues to drag us out of the facility. Eventually, we all make it.
  Flex throws me to the ground. I grunt as I catch myself from falling. I look up to see that Blake is extremely hurt, Jack is holding her with a worried look, Yuki is still pretty pissed off, and Kiyo is with Sapphire and Nico. I turn around to Flex and Kol with fear in my eyes.
  "What are you doing!? I need to get back in there!" I get up as quickly as I can to try and get back into the facility to see if I really did see Artemis, to see if he's hurt or if he's okay. I run towards the entrance, but Flex does a tight hug thing to stop me.
  "Are you insane Shino?! You're going to get yourself killed by running in there now!"
  I struggle as I'm almost in tears. Kol just stares at me, concerned. Kol then whispers something to Flex, and then he lets me go. Kol motions his eyes to the building, practically saying: 'go before Flex hugs you again.' I stare at them for a little bit before running inside the building that's on fire from the explosion.
  Once I enter the building. I head for the room me and Kol were in immediately. The room was destroyed, and same with just the entire building itself. There's so much debris in the room and I just start trying to lift up as much as I can to find Artemis.
  I look pretty much everywhere, lifting almost all the debris. When I get to the last little area of the room, I lift up the debris to find Artemis's unconscious body. He had a deep wound near his chest, and some little cuts just everywhere from what I could tell. His hero suit is durable, but definitely not built to withstand concrete ceilings falling on you.
  I breathe heavily, I feel sick to my stomach because of my anxiety. I really wanted to believe that Artemis was a hallucination, but seeing him in front of me right here right now is making me speechless.
  I grab Artemis under his arms, and I start to pull him out of the debris. I'm careful to make sure he's not caught on anything that could potentially harm him more. Once I'm able to get him out, I start to carry him bridal style out of the building. There's some parts of the ceiling still falling, as it's still on fire. I eventually found an exit, which is where I came in from when Flex was stopping me. I see Flex and everyone else waiting for me after I kick the doors out.
  I quickly put Artemis on the ground immediately after getting out the building. I check for a pulse first, then I check all of his wounds, mostly the one on his chest.
  Everyone looks at me with anxious eyes, some look at Artemis with absolute worry.
  "Artemis!?...Wh-What was he doing here?!" Flex says concerned. I ignore his question, and I keep checking for a pulse. I can feel a slightly slow one, which gives me hope that he'll be okay.
  "Shino! Shino!? SHINO!" Sapphire yells to get my attention. My eyes grow wide as I look in her direction. "What is going on!? Is Artemis okay!?" She finally asks as she speed walks over to his side. She sees the bleeding wound that he has on his chest, and she is filled with even more worry.
  "I don't know! I don't know what's going on and I don't know what to do!!" I finally snap, absolutely freaking out. I don't know what to do at the moment. The scene of Artemis in front of me makes me want to help him desperately, but I don't know how, I don't know what to use or what to do to help. I'm at a complete loss.

:Artemis's POV:
(Back when the bomb exploded)

  When the blast went off, I was flung to the left side of the room, I hit the wall and fell back to the ground. I groaned in pain, and my vision was going blurry, I'm pretty sure I'm concussed. I start to crawl and attempt to get up, but as I look up, I see the ceiling starting to collapse. Some of it was going to fall onto me, so I just collapsed back down on the floor and accepted it, knowing I wasn't going to be able to escape it.
  Soon enough, part of the ceiling fell onto me. I yelled in pain, but barely any sound came out. It felt like I was being crushed. Sure enough, I look down, and I see a pool of blood starting to form around me on the floor. And I have a taste of iron in my mouth. My vision starts to go black as the lack of oxygen and loss of blood get to me.
  Just before I go unconscious, I hear Shino calling out my name.
  "Shino...?" I whisper faintly. He didn't hear me. I see Flex and Kol. I start to go unconscious. And then everything went completely dark. And all I could hear were the faint cries of Shino.
