(Killian's POV)

"Killian?" A voice that I felt I hadn't heard in millennia called. I quickly turned to her, hardly believing my eyes.

"Swan?" I asked, seeing if I wasn't imagining her. Then realizing she was really here- and seeking comfort- I rushed over to her and picking up her slight form, and spun her around laughing, and smiling from ear to ear. When I set her down I saw small tears on her cheeks, I wiped them away with my thumb. I then used my hand to tilt her chin towards me. I saw fear in her green eyes, and she backed away from me, I downcast my gaze.

"I'm sorry, I just can't..." She didn't finish her sentence, before she started weeping. I didn't mind, in fact I appreciated that she trusted me enough to be here right now. I'm glad she is here. I don't think I could've made it without her, it felt like ages since she absorbed the darkness, though it had been a mere hour.

"Love, I'm just happy you're here." I said, pulling her closer so she could cry on my shoulder. I tangled my fingers in her hair as tears fell on my jacket, which I removed, and gave to her when I felt her shiver.

"So now you're a gentleman?" She asked, quoting our time on the beanstalk.

"I'm always a gentleman," I said once again referring to her time in the enchanted Forest. "And you were cold." I finished. I pulled her close to me once more; partly because she was cold, partly because I wanted to hold her close, after the events of the night. As we embraced I internally kicked myself for not being able to say 'I love you' when she sacrificed herself.

I didn't realize Emma was trying to get my attention, "Killian?" she asked.

(Emma's POV)

I pulled back, trying to get his attention "Killian?" I asked. He looked regretful

"Sorry, love." He mumbled. I noticed then how dark it was outside, and I grabbed my phone and looked at the time, 1:24am. "What is it, love?" He asked when he saw the worried look on my face.

"It's just, it's late, and I should go home. But, I don't want them to see me like this." I explained.

"That's alright love," he said "You can stay with me." He answered.

"Are you sure?" I asked him.

"Of course love, like I said I'm a gentleman, and I would never refuse a fair maiden, such as yourself be without shelter for the night." He assured, placing a hand on my cheek, grinning, and raising his eyebrow- devilishly handsome as always.

"I never asked you," I asked, genuinely curious, as I grabbed his hand. "Where do you live, now that the Jolly Rodger is... Well, gone?" I said the last part with hesitance remembering the sacrifice he made.

"Granny's." he answered with a small smile. Ten he grabbed my other hand with his hook. "It was worth it you know." He said.

            "What was?" I asked, confused.

"Trading my ship." He said leading me down the street, and in that moment, I didn't feel dark at all.

(Killian's POV)

I walked in through the front of the diner, nodding a hello to Ruby who was wiping down the counter. Emma was coming in through the back, where the laundry was. Where she put my heart back in my chest. I thought to myself. I continued through the diner, and then met Emma at the stairs that lead to the apartments. I grabbed her hand, and looked into her beautiful green eyes before leading her to the one where I was staying. I showed her where the bathroom and the bed were, and told her I'd take the couch.

I was about to lay out a blanket for myself, but Emma stopped me. She had an unreadable look on her face, before she said "Stay with me?". I was shocked, I did want to comfort her more than anything, I just didn't want to make her uncomfortable or upset.

All I said was "Always." It was simple, but it showed her how much I loved her, and it was the truth, I would never stray from her. Then, she crawled under the covers, and lay on her side, I carefully crept in next to her, my body pressed against hers, and wrapped my arms around her.

"Thank you." She said drowsily, and then she fell asleep.
