Kyoko and Dr. Amemiya's friendship continued to blossom over time. They would often meet up at cafes or restaurants, trying out new foods and sharing their thoughts on life. Kyoko even attempted to cook for the doctor, but unfortunately, her lack of culinary skills resulted in a disastrous meal. As she was cutting vegetables, she accidentally sliced through her finger, leaving a deep and painful gash.
But instead of crying out in pain, Kyoko calmly wrapped her finger in a cloth and made her way to the hospital where Dr. Amemiya worked.
Kyoko stared at her finger, blood slowly seeping through the cloth, her mind racing with thoughts. She had been lost in her own world, trying to find a reason, any reason, to visit Dr. Amemiya at the hospital once again. And then it hit her-a seemingly innocent accident could provide the perfect opportunity.
With a subtle smile playing on her lips, Kyoko pressed the cloth against her wound a bit harder, allowing a small grimace to briefly cross her face. She knew that she needed to make it appear realistic, convincing enough to warrant a visit to the hospital.
After all, what harm could a little cut do?
As Kyoko entered the hospital, she spotted Dr. Amemiya attending to a patient nearby. She approached him, trying her best to maintain a pained expression on her face.
"Dr. Amemiya," she called out, her voice tinged with a hint of discomfort. "I seem to have had a little accident in the kitchen."
Dr. Amemiya turned towards her, his eyes widening in concern. " Kyoko-san, what happened?"
Kyoko extended her injured finger towards him, the cloth stained with her own blood. "I was cutting vegetables and, well, my finger got in the way."
The doctor inspected her finger with a practiced eye, his expression growing serious. "You've definitely cut yourself deep. We'll need to clean and bandage the wound."
A flicker of satisfaction crossed Kyoko's face, but Dr. Amemiya caught it immediately. He deadpanned, his voice filled with playful suspicion, "Kyoko-san, I can't help but notice that mischievous smile of yours. Are you sure this wasn't a deliberate ploy to see me at the hospital again?"
