"Hmmm should I get the red one or the purple one?" Asteria asked. She was dressed in a very typical sweet lolita style. She wore a purple dress with a teddy bear pattern, under which she wore a lacy white blouse and about three or four fluffy petticoats. On her head she wore a pair of matching purple bows, and on her feet she wore a pair of simple black mary janes and ruffled socks. In contrast to her otherwise adorable outfit, the head of a teddy bear attached to a chain on her waist hung at her hip.

"Mm... Gah!" Leif answered after thinking for a moment.

"You're right, I guess I do already have purple bows..." Asteria agreed, nodding to herself thoughtfully while Leif stared at the purple bows currently resting in her strawberry pink hair.

She purchased the bows and handed them to Leif, who added them to one of the four bags he was carrying for her.

"Hmmm now where to next?" she wondered aloud, looking around at the shops in the market. Leif's stomach grumbled.

"That's a great idea! We should stop and have lunch! Ooo let's go to that little french cafe," Asteria suggested. Leif nodded in agreement and the two headed into the cafe and took their seats across from each other.

They studied their menus for a few minutes.

"Mmm... a chocolate crepe sounds sooo good right now..." Asteria commented, her mouth beginning to water. "What do you think you want to get?"

"Mm... Hff. Kya!" Leif answered, leaning his chin against the palm of his hand.

"A monte cristo, huh?" Asteria made a face. "Ugh. Lame, who goes to a French cafe and doesn't order a crepe?"

Leif just rolled his eyes. "Ngyah." He muttered, staring out the window.

"Just because they have it on the menu doesn't mean anyone orders it," Asteria argued, crossing her arms. At that moment, the server approached them.

"Good afternoon. Oooh, young love, how delightful–" the server started.

Leif and Asteria's faces turned matching shades of pink.

"We-We're not dating!" Asteria stammered, staring furiously at the table.

"Ah, er, right, my apologies for assuming, I just—What can I get for you?" the server corrected awkwardly.

"I'll have a chocolate strawberry crepe and he'll have a monte cristo–like a weirdo–oo and I want a strawberry milkshake too. You want tea, right?" Asteria turned her attention back to Leif, who was now distractedly fiddling with the corner of his menu.

"Mm." he answered.

"Right, yes, and a chai tea," Asteria finished.

"Alright, wonderful. We should have that out for you in just a minute!" the server told them cheerfully before leaving.

"I can't believe she thought we were dating... Psh. How ridiculous," Asteria commented. Leif chewed on a napkin.

Asteria cleared her throat. "I said—"

"Mm.. Hwah!" Leif interrupted.

"Fine, I'll let you change the subject. No, I still haven't found a suitable weapon. It's just so hard, I can't seem to resonate with anyone, and I keep getting rejected! Maybe I'm not cut out to be a meister after all..."

"Kyah... Hup!"

"I guess that's a good point... Wait, Tiberius is still doing that? Honestly I cannot see why he feels like he needs two weapons when he only ever uses one of them."

Asteria sighed and leaned her chin against her palm.

"So that's how it's gonna be for us, huh? I'm never gonna get to be a proper meister and you're never gonna be a death scythe."

Leif nodded and leaned his chin on his palm, mirroring Asteria.

The server approached their table with two plates.

"Alright you two, here's your—"

CRASH!!

Suddenly, a woman crashed through the cafe window. She wore her hair pinned up and was dressed in a black dress. As she landed inside the cafe, the skirt fluttered up briefly revealing a red interior that matched the red stockings she wore. In her right hand, she held a novelty sized silver rosary. The end of the cross appeared to be razor-sharp, and she held it in a rather threatening manner.

"HERETICS!!" the woman cried. "EVERY ONE OF YOU!! AND YOU SHALL PAY!!"

"Eep!!" the server cried, dropping both plates.

Moments before they hit the ground and shattered, Leif dove down and caught them, placing them on the table.

"Hmph. Who does this lady think she is to interrupt our lunch?" Asteria said, standing quickly and brushing off her skirt. Leif darted to his feet and stood beside Asteria protectively.

"Eh? HYAH!" Leif exclaimed.

"Bloody Mary? Like from the missions board??" Asteria asked. "Well, I was already gonna suggest that we take her down so we can get back to our lunch, but now we should DEFINITELY take her down!"

Leif nodded firmly.

"Let's go." Asteria said with an uncharacteristically devilish grin, holding her hand out towards Leif.
