Hi!!! I'm really sorry that this took so long to get out, and that this part is somewhat of a mess, a lot has been going on in my life and I just haven't been able to write at all lately. Part 3 is almost done though, and I'm going into summer break for school so I'll have more time.
Anyways, got into a tangent, I hope you all enjoy this part. If not, then stick around till part three. I've got so much planned!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and any feedback at all is really appreciated!
Fun fact of this part: Elephants sing to each other, but their songs are in a frequency too low for humans to hear.
***Update, this part has been changed on 5/29/2023 so if you read it before then, some things have changed. :) ****

Luz had a bit of hope when stepping into the demon realm that this disastrous Halloween would start to look a bit better. Maybe they'd come through the portal and everyone was okay, everything was fine, and they'd make friends with the collector. But of course, it was the opposite. And it was all her fault again.
She didn't think she could've gotten her friends into any more danger than they were in not even thirty minutes ago, but of course not. Because she had to be stupid. And to make it all even worse she heard Willow's panicked voice behind her say, "Guys... Hunter just passed out.."
She forgot about the danger in the bush, only for a second, as she instinctively looked back at her friends. Sure enough, Willow was propping Hunter up and god, she hadn't even let herself notice the scars that had taken the place of the green goo zigzagging across her brother's face. This was all her fault. He'd gotten hurt, because of her. And on top of that, she yelled at him. For doing literally nothing! It just came out and she didn't know why. He didn't say that it was nothing. Actually the opposite! Multiple times. But she just didn't believe him. If she had just listened-
"It's going to be okay, just stay back there," her mother told Willow, snapping Luz out of her thoughts. Right, she could make up for it now. She reached into her pocket and... hit the side of her costume. Urgggg she knew she should have sewn in pockets! Welp, there went plan A!
The rustling got closer and Luz could have sworn she saw eyes. Green eyes... but they could have been blue. And glowing. No, they weren't glowing...
"Luz?" The figure stood out of the bush and Luz grinned. Raine Whispers! Apart from their hair growing a bit and the mint green hair dye fading, the witch didn't look much different from the last time she'd seen them. Other than the fact that they looked exhausted as she felt. They took a few steps toward the group, "What are you all doing...... not enough time, we need to get you all out of here."
"Raine!" She ran up and hugged the bard as tight as she could. If they were okay, maybe everyone else was too! And maybe Eda was with them! As Luz let go of Raine, a quiet almost unnoticeable melody filled the area. A melody that sent a cold chill down Luz's spine for no apparent reason.
Raine noticed the music as well, as a look of dread passed over the witch's face. The look only lasted a second, but it was long enough that Luz knew the music didn't mean anything good.
"Oh, titan.." Raine muttered to themself before commanding slightly louder to everyone behind Luz, "Everyone, come here now." They pulled out a huge dark green blanket covered in leaves from a backpack.
The blanket seemed to grow as the Bard tossed it into the air. Willow was the last one underneath it as she gently carried Hunter. Gus sat silently, staring at the ground as Amity sat down next to him and put her hand on his shoulder. Luz fiddled with her Azura costume's cape.
The music came closer and closer and got louder and louder and then stopped, hovering for what felt like hours over the group, and Luz could only slightly make out a very muffled conversation.
"You're so booooooooring!!!!! What if we...... fun!"
"...Don't you think.... a little too far?"
".... party pooper!"
The voices sounded familiar but they were so far away that she couldn't tell for sure. Slowly the music faded away and so did the conversation. However, no one dared to even breathe before Raine finally broke the deafening silence as they uncovered the group and folded the blanket up. Luz could have sworn that it shrunk as the Bard folded it.
"Okay, they should be far enough away. We need to get you all to the Owl House. I think we can make it if we leave now and-" .
"No one is going anywhere until you tell me who you are and what that was!" Camila cut Raine off.
"Oh, right, yeah," Raine put the blanket back in the backpack, and held their hand out to Camila, "My name's Raine Whispers..." They trailed off before Luz chimed in.
"Only one of the coolest witches in all of the boiling isles! It's okay Mamá! They're on our side."
"Where is everyone? Everything looks so...for lack of a better word, empty." Amity spoke up, and Raine hesitated for a moment before sliding the backpack onto their back and standing up.
"I don't have the time to explain right here, Eda, Lilith, and I are hiding out at the owl house. Well, they should be there. If not, we'll cross that boiling lake when we get to it. I promise you all I'll explain everything once we-" Raine's eyes scanned the group as they talked, finally noticing the unconscious Hunter. "Oh, Titan! Is he alright?! What happened to him?!"
"Belos," Luz answered after a few seconds of hesitation from the group. For a second, that seemed enough of an answer for Raine. They put the blanket back in the backpack and slung it over their shoulder.
"He'll be okay," Raine started, hesitated, and then continued, "We'll make sure of it when we get back." They directed their attention toward Willow, "But, we need to leave as quickly as possible. Can you carry him there? We can take breaks or take turns carrying him. Or we can find a place to wait until he wakes up."
"No, It's okay. I'll carry him." Willow, who was noticeably as tired as the rest of the group, got a look of determination on her face. Camila looked over at her.
"Willow, you don't have to.."
"Really, I've got him. If it isn't safe here, and we can help him when we get there, I can manage." she stood up and carefully picked up Hunter, who was terrifyingly still. He didn't look like he did when he- well, he looked alive and like he was still breathing, but he was terrifyingly still."Okay, say something if we need to stop." Raine turned and started heading towards the woods.
Amity was the first to stand after Willow, grabbing Luz's hand and helping her up. Luz glanced back at her mom and her friends. Her family. The family that she got into this situation. The family that she'd gotten hurt. She saw Willow walk over beside Gus and whisper something that made him almost laugh. Her Mom was the last one to follow, standing at the back of the group wielding her stick like a weapon. Luz felt even more guilt pour into her.
"Wait-" Luz called after Raine. Something clicked inside her brain. "Did you say Eda and Lillith were with you?"
"Yes, I did. They're at the Owl House. Well, they should be at the Owl house unless Eda ran off again" Raine responded over their shoulder.
And with that, with the news that Eda was alright, hope sparked inside Luz. Hope she didn't mess everything up. Hope that she can make everything alright. With that hope, she lightly squeezed her girlfriend's hand and they followed the bard into the forest.
