"yo" Ethan said waving me over. He had Joan, his girlfriend by his side. Quin and Tiffany were also there. I smiled. Classes had ended for the day and I was skipping practice today. I and my friends had a party to attend. And this wasn't just any party. It was Fred McCall's Party and he knew how to throw epic parties. I walked toward Ethan's black sedan.
"Hey guys" I said still smiling.
"hey teacher's pet" Quin said rolling her eyes and smiling too.
"We thought you weren't going to come out" Ethan said.
"I'm so sorry guys, I had to lie to coach that I wasn't feeling well and he almost didn't believe me till I fake-fainted" I said laughing. The others joined in too.
"Wait till he finds out you ditched basketball for a party with the state tournaments barely a month from now" Joan said holding unto Ethan like he would disappear if she let go. I rolled my eyes and said with sarcasm dripping in my tone "I have been playing basketball since first grade, I'm pretty much pro now. Besides, one party wouldn't hurt"
"Can you all stop this bickering and let's go home already. I'm starving and I need to pick out my dress for tonight" Tiffany said frowning
"Even with nothing on babe, you would still look great" Quin said kissing her lightly on her cheek. Tiffany rolled her eyes and kept whining. Ethan and Joan got into Ethan's car, Quin and Tiffany got into Quin's truck while I rode home alone. My parents were still at work and the house was empty. I drove into the garage and parked my car. I opened the door and got into the house. First things first, I was starving. I quickly made a chicken sandwich and took it upstairs to my room. My parents had a huge house. Too big. I was the only child but my house had eight rooms. I never really asked why though. My room was big and airy. With basketball flyers, posters, wallpapers and magazines every corner of the room. I started playing the sport since I could run. My father wasn't really athletic and he made sure I made up for his lapses in that area. I pulled off my sweat shirt, pants and underwear and went straight to the shower. Unlike Tiffany, I didn't really bother about what to wear to the party. I wasn't planning on attracting anyone tonight. I just needed booze and some outdoor activity. As you would imagine, I was really attractive with the body anyone would dream of having. Toned abs, chiseled muscles, strong tall legs and a stunning face to match, I looked good. Did I mention rich too? I was single though. My past experiences with love turned out pretty badly. Everyone wanted to identify as the girlfriend of the rich, hot, basketball player. I got tired of falling into the hands of one selfish brat to the other and I decided to stay on my own. My friend wouldn't hear of it though. Always trying to hook me up with random people. I was the only single one in the group. Ethan had Joan and Quin had Tif. I had myself. Self-love. After scrubbing my body clean of sweat and feeling refreshed, I dried my body off with a towel and stepped into the room naked. I put on a pair of clean briefs and jeans, then a sport bra and a shirt. I ran a comb through my short hair and a look in the mirror said perfection. I picked up my phone and texted Ethan.
Me: where are you guys? I'm ready
My phone beeped as his message came in.
Ethan: En-route to your crib.
I sent a message to my mom telling her I would be coming home a bit later than usual. I heard the sound of Ethan's car pull up in the driveway and after one look at the mirror and a touch of cologne. I went downstairs to meet them. Joan being the sweet, innocent one, wore a decent black top and a pair of tight jeans with light makeup. Ethan wore a black shirt and jeans too match Joan's look. Tiffany and Quin had a masquerade theme going on that I fought hard not to laugh out loud. Both were heavily made up and wore what I would call a pride costume (rainbows drawn all over). Joan was sitting in front with Ethan and Quin was sitting with Tiffany at the back. I joined them there and after the usual greetings and bickering, we zoomed off towards Fred's house.
