PAST AND THE FUTURE

chapter 5

The person walked into the restroom was none other than Mew Suppasit.

Gulf didn't know what to do. He was left to stand awkwarly infornt the mirror.

Silence took over as they both kept staring at each other. Gulf was the first one to break the eye contact.

He cleared his throat and took steps towards the door.

Mew stopped him by holding his wrist. Mew's touch stopped his movement immediately. His heart was acheing but he put on pretend smile as he turned towards mew.

"How are you phi mew ?" Gulf asked sweetly. Like nothing ever happened between them. It's like they were just acquaintances.Just two people who worked together in the past and nothing more.

Mew was taken aback by that tone. He imagined a lot of outcomes but gulf reacting like this isn't one of them.

"I..I am good" Mew replied still unsure of how to act in this situation. He released gulf's wrist.

Gulf took his hand back in light speed. But the smile on his didn't wither.

"How are you..." Mew asked voice barely coming out of this throat.

"Me ? Ah awesome!" Gulf cheered happily in reply.

"Oh..." Mew said not knowing what else to say. Though gulf is acting like they is nothing wrong with them. But he still looks so cold and unapproachable under that smiley face. 

"I will be going then..." Gulf asked pointing his finger at the door. But Mew was not ready to let him go yet. So he squeezed out the words out of himself, just so gulf would stay there a bit longer.

"You didn't answer my call?" Mew asked.

"Oh...You called? I didn't see. When did you call?" Gulf asked like he genuinely had no idea that mew called him.

"Friday morning" Mew replied.

"Oh really. I didn't see " Gulf said with a confused tone as he took his phone out of his pocket and scrolled through the call history.

"Ahh there is a missed call. I was in shoot at that time. " Gulf said with a apologitc smile like it was the first time he got to know mew called him.

"I was so busy with work last week. Literally had no time " gulf added still maintaining that work place smile.

"You didn't change" mew said out of no where.

"Huh what?" Gulf asked confused.

"Your phone password. It's still the same" mew said.

"Oh...that" Gulf was flabbergasted with that response. He didn't expect mew to still remember something like his phone password.

"Some things are hard to change when you get used to them" gulf added , recovering fastly from shock. And they both know they are not talking about phone password here.

Mew didn't know how to respond. So he kept silent. Gulf spoke to ease the tension.

"Didn't think you would remember such a minor thing" Gulf said with an awkward laugh.

"Some things are impossible to forget. " Mew replied plainly as if he was only talking about the merry thing as password.

"Haha. Sure. Cool" Gulf replied acting cool raising his thumbs up.

"I should probably go now. Haha..see you " gulf walked out of the room like it was caught on fire.

It was only when he finally got out of that room, he could finally breathe properly.
