Florian didn't sleep at all last night; the book on dark plant magic is still propped up against his knees, and his neck is aching due to the fact he's been looking down the entire night. His eyes are bloodshot from exhaustion, with dark circles under them.

"Floria-." His father barges into his room to wake him up, only to stop when he sees he's already up and looking deader than he is. "You didn't sleep." He observes, wincing when his son's bloodshot eyes glance up at him.

"Obviously." The boy rolls his eyes, reaching his hands into the sky, groaning in satisfaction when his back cracks. "It's fine; I'll just sleep during classes." He assures his father, rolling his neck around to try and loosen up the joints, wincing with every stretch.

"You shouldn't tell me you're going to sleep in class." His father tells him, walking over to open his curtains.

"Wait-!" Florian cuts himself off with a hiss as light breaches his previously dark room, covering his eyes with his forearms as his retinas burn.

"Jesus, you're like a fucking vampire." Arthur says this with a light chuckle as he begins to walk out of the room. "And if you're going to sleep in class, don't get caught." He tells his son, closing the door behind him as he leaves and smiling when he hears a thud come from the boys room, followed by a groan.

"How the hell?" Arthur whispers to himself as he watches his son walk past the open kitchen, the dark circles under his eyes gone. The red in his eyes is no longer visible. And his skin looked healthy again—no longer pale, and his veins were no longer visible through his skin.

"My genes are amazing." Lillian answers, grinning at her husband and walking away with a peck on his cheek.

After a quick visit to his school and a basic mental charm on the principal—making him believe Florian attended like he was supposed to—Florian finds himself just outside of Mystic Falls and flirting his way into getting a drink while waiting for his contact.

"Day drinking, really?" A deep voice pulls him from his new—his mother's—grimoire. He looks up from the pages with a grin, raising an amused brow at the expecting look. He rolls his eyes before handing the bottle to the man.

"Jamie!" Florian kicks the seat opposite him out, patting the seat with his foot in invitation. His gaze moves from the man's silver eyes and onto the bag resting on one of his shoulders—a shiver runs up his spine at the magic radiating from it.

The man's somehow gotten bigger and hotter. His jaw is somehow wider, like he's finally grown into adulthood, even if he's been 25 for over 400 years. He isn't taller, but he's definitely broader; his already wide shoulders are larger, and his chest and arms are being contained by the cotton shirt hugging his body like a second skin.

"So, do you have what I want?" Florian asks after letting Jamie drink down half the bottle, placing the grimoire on dark plant magic in his own bag.

"Oh, I have what you want." Jamie's full lips twist into a flirtatious smirk, though he also moves his bag onto the table, slowly undoing the zipper and moving it back and forth, teasing.

"If I get what I want..." Florian begins, twisting slightly to pull out a small vial of clear liquid from his bag and twisting forward again to place the vial in front of him, grinning as the vampire's eyes lock onto the vial. "Then you'll get what you want." The tip of his index finger swirls around the small cork sealing the vial, returning the teasing.

"Double the dose?" Jamie's last dose was strong, almost overwhelmingly so, but he wants—he needs—more.

Jamie's addicted; Florian thanks his past self for adding an addictive component to the combination between herbs, oils, and enchantments; it burns if Jamie goes too long without getting a hit; and the vampire has a lot of old witchy artefacts that he has no use for or need for.
