Alone For Once

Living in Ljubljana wasn't just for fun. Clémence had been in the studio almost every day to record everything she had in mind. She hasn't told anyone - not even the boys from Joker Out - but she almost finished her first EP.

She had left The Warning to finally be free to make the music she genuinely enjoyed and she was thriving. The redhead was glad she had always written down or recorded on her phone every single idea, whether it was a melody or some lyrics. So when she finally rented a music studio, she had already a lot of material to use to record.

Thank god, she wasn't just a very talented and gifted musician who could play many instruments. Unlike what her sisters thought, Clem actually had a nice singing voice and had learned from their former producer how to, well, produce music herself.

She felt terrible for even thinking this but she felt free.

Not that she had always been stuck in the band but being the youngest and not the leader - even if according to Flo there was no leader - a lot of her ideas have been dismissed in the past. She enjoyed hard rock, but her true love was indie. She had tried in the past to talk to her sisters to be able to make some side projects. The answer was always the same: "you won't have the time".

Now she had all the time she wanted to work on her personal projects. And with the massive support she had received from her friends in Joker Out, she felt even more comforted in her choice to leave The Warning.

Her sisters have released two songs since she had left the band. One that she had recorded with them before the Eurovision, and one she had never heard. "They must have found a new drummer" she thought.

But good for them. She was glad that her departure didn't mean the end of the band she had founded with them. Glad the band would remain and still make hard rock. Sure she wasn't there anymore, but it never meant that her sisters had to stop what they enjoyed.

Working on her first EP alone has been a hell of a ride including a bunch of breakdowns because she felt terrible that she left the band. Clem has decided to use her experience and the way she had felt for the past year in the band to write some songs.

Her meeting with Joker Out has been a big inspiration as well. How they have helped her realise that the way she was treated wasn't something she had to accept. That's how 'In the darkness' was born. The first song of her EP. The beginning of a new adventure.

In the end, she recorded six songs for her first EP. The struggle to find the name was surely something she didn't experience since it came pretty naturally. Alone for Once.

Clémence was 11 when The Warning was created and for 10 years she had been in it. She has never really been alone whether in her music career or in her life in general. Flo and Gab have always been by her side for everything. She was finally flying by herself in the world and god did it feel great.

She was now 21 and it felt like her life was finally starting. But she wasn't afraid, she was actually welcoming it with open arms. Plus, she wasn't really alone, she had friends by her side, especially one: Bojan Cvjetićanin.

The French girl hated to admit it but he has been the inspiration for the last three songs of the EP. She tried her best not to be too obvious in her lyrics but she knew he wasn't stupid. Her song 'Tough Guy' was pretty self-explanatory in its lyrics and she was sure it wouldn't take long for him to understand that she wrote it about him.
