"Adornment, what a science! Beauty, what a weapon! Modesty, what elegance!"
– Coco Chanel
July 2019, present day
The soft sound of hills clanking against the marble floor resonated through the dimly lit hallway at equal intervals, the acoustic of the beautiful room accentuating the sound. From this alone people were able to tell the person coming was of unparalleled grace.
"Is that Miss Kim?" asked a new employee.
"Yes." answered one of the stage directors as she bowed respectfully when the elegant woman passed by. The later bowed as well, her face adorned by a warm, inviting smile.
"She's beautiful." said the apprentice, her eyes glued to her. Miss Kim was wearing a flowy dress that reached all the way under her knees. The gradient deep purple one piece had low cut shoulders that went around her frame, right under her collar bones, hugging her. A thin leather belt in a different color hugged her around the waist, complimenting her silhouette. Her shoes were a pair of elegant white stilettos, the same color as the belt.
"She's not only beautiful, she's also very kind and a genuinely nice person."
The new girl kept staring at the women that was now a few feet in front of her, discussing something about the future display. She was holding her two hands intertwined in front of her body, her little purse between her fingers, her back was straight and her ashy grey hair, even though styled, flowed naturally over her shoulders and down her back. The newbie was pinched by her supervisor, who warned her to stop staring. She turned around, eventually letting her eyes leave Miss Kim. Still, she could hear her talking.
"These two guests, they know each other. How about we have the two Mr. Kim sit on the left side of the stage, that way they'll be able to sit by each other, and we move one of the solo reporters in the seat that will remain empty."
"I think that works fine. I'll talk to the seat management team and tell them what we've decided." the man said writing down the new arrangements "Now" he says turning back to look at the woman "I think it's time you go. Didn't you say you're moving houses today?"
"Yeah, I am. I'll go around for one last check up then I'm leaving. Thanks for all the help, Hyun. I don't know what I would've done without you."
"No problem. Now hurry up and leave you big baby. I can do the final check up."
"Are you sure? I mean I don't mind I could-"
Jimin didn't get to finish, because Hyun interrupted her, shaking his head vigurously "No, you workaholic. I got this. Leave before I make you."
"Okay, I'm leaving." she said finally backtracking and leaving through the same door she'd come in.
I wonder what Jin is doing the woman thought as she drove her Mercedes through the gates of Hannam the Hill, her new home.
It had been a few long months since he's last been in the country and well over a year since she's seen him face to face. They hadn't even spoken over the phone since before he left on tour.
They hit it big and became the biggest band to exist in a very long time. They wanted to do their best, to work even harder now that so many people were paying attention to them and sending their love. They didn't want to disappoint.
And, obviously, with the insane amount of fame they'd reached grew the gigs, the performances, the requests for them to be on shows, at festivals etc. They barely had time to breath, constantly travelling between America and Korea, Europe and other countries too, sometimes.
Jimin sighed getting out of her car and passing the keys to the valette. She went inside, pressing her new resident card into the slot by the entrance. After the doors opened she got into the elevator, pressing for the forth floor.
She always loved the views one could admire from the last floor, that's why she'd bought that apartment. That and the fact that it was in the same apartment complex as her brother and his band's one. She was now so close to him.
I can't wait to tell him we're neighbors.
The woman stepped out of the elevator and walked down the hallway, until she came face to face with a large, wooden door with a keypad lock on the knob.
Apartment number 9 she read inside her head before pressing the buttons and setting her new passcode. The one she and her brother had decided to use all those years ago.
She pushed the door open and stepped into the dark hallway, illuminated only by the moonlight that was flowing through the massive window at the end of the corridor. She searched around blindly for the light switch and turned it on before walking forward into the living area.
She didn't even glance around her new house, she just passed right through the middle and stopped in front of the grandiose windows that were taking up a whole wall, simply admiring the beautiful Seoul night view.
Then, she turned around and simply walked into the bedroom, ready to finally sleep early after an exhausting month.
Hoping the show that was to take place in only a couple days would turn out splendid she turned off the lamp by her bed and fell asleep, reminding herself she'd have to unpack tomorrow.
