The Faults Of A Hero

chapter 2

After he arrests the bank robber and takes him to jail, Luke walks down the street looking for more trouble to be stopped.

A girl looks at Luke and smiles at him "hiiiiiiiii Bolt," she says with a flirting smile.

Luke smiles back at her and nods his head up.
"Hey," he greets her then walks past.

The girl giggles and walks away.

Luke turns onto the busiest street in the whole city. He looks around at the people walking down the street and in and out of the stores. He then looks at the cars passing on the road.

"Hmm. Everything looks all good here," he says with a grin then walks into the coffee shop he goes to every day, Talhas coffee. The best coffee and donut shop in town.

The bell on top of the door to the shop dings as he goes in.

The coffee shop worker looks up from the customer he's working with to look at the hero. He smiles. The tv in the coffee shop can be heard on the wall behind Luke but Luke ignore it like always.

"Bolt my man! You did one hell of a good job this morning! Saw on the news how you stopped that bank robber," greets the worker. He gives the customer their change and the customer walks away.

Luke grins and walks up to the counter, cutting in front of the other people in line. No one protests against the cutting hero.

"Ey you know me, Toby. Just doin what I do best," says Luke with a smile.

The worker, Toby,  grins and turns around to grab the coffee he had already waiting for Luke.

When Toby turns back to face luke, he notices the tv behind luke. He sighs.

"It's Mystic again. On the news. Looks like he has a message for you, Bolt," Toby says.

Luke laughs and turns around to face the TV. "There's nothing that villain can throw at me that I can't hand-"
He stops his words short when he sees the news report on the tv.

The caption says "Mystic's message to Bolt". On the screen is Nigel and right behind him, is Mara, unconscious and in a mass of purple tentacles. They appear to be in an abandoned warehouse.

"I expect I finally got your attention, bolt," sneers the villain.

Luke scowls.

"As you see here, I have a friend here with me," the villain grins and motions towards Mara behind him.

"Your girl. Now meet me and I'll give you a little choice. Save your little girlfriend, or city," he looks coldly at the camera .
"You know where to go," the villain says coldly with a cold look at the camera.

Mara suddenly wakes up. She looks at Nigel and screams. She's clearly frightened. She moves in her binds to try to get free. Her face is bloodied from when she fell. Nigel laughs then the screen then goes black.

Luke punches the wall next to him, leaving a fist size hole in the white wall.

The others in the shop look at Luke. They are all silent.
Luke looks serious and even furious. Suddenly, he disappears from the coffee shop with his super speed.

In about 30 seconds Luke suddenly appears in the warehouse with Nigel and Mara. He ran super fast there with his super speed and crashed a hole in the wall.  Mara looks at Luke.

"Luke!" Mara yells to him.

Luke doesn't look at her. He's glaring at Nigel.

"What did you do?!" Luke demands through gritted teeth.
