Phayu wasn't going to ride. He really wasn't. He was just there as the mechanic.

But then P'Som came up to him and offered and Papai's spot needed filing this week anyway so he sorta just agreed.

He regretted it when he got his racing suit out of his bike

He regretted it as he got changed

He regretted it as he prepared his bike

And he deeply deeply regretted it when he was waiting on the starting line. He hadn't ridden in a while. A long while.

Still it was literally riding a bike but what he didn't account for was the other riders

It all passed in a blur.

The screeching of tires

The flash of lights

Then the startling force. His heart screeched to a halt as he body was flung through the air like a rag doll. Then there was pain. Just pure white blinding pain. Which rippled into restless nothingness

Rain swore as he sped down the highway. He was pushing the speed limit but it didn't feel fast enough. Never in his life had Rain felt so terrified. The only time it came close was when Phayu was in the hospital after being tutored, even then Phayu was right in front of him,

Now, he had no idea how badly his boyfriend was hurt. The guy on the phone hadn't told him much.

A very small part of him felt bad for leaving Sky but he knew his best friend would understand. He always did.

Rain swung his car into an empty bay, he didn't even notice the fact his car covered multiple bays. The panic in his chest hurt so much he felt like his lungs could burst at any minute.

He raced into the hospital. A blur of white. The smell of sanitizer stung his nose and made his lungs burn more, if that was even possible

He barely heard the nurse, he just felt himself saying Phayu's name and the nurse's gentle hand brushing over his back as she guided him towards a small room.

Then he saw him and it was like his whole world stopped moving

It was almost like the last time except this time Phayu looked much much worse.

He was unconscious, his breath shallow and laboured, indicating that he may have had a punctured lung. Road burn coated the length of his boyfriend's arm and he could see a number of white bandages cuffing his pale skin.

Rain didn't realise he had moved until he felt the sharp shooting pain in his knees as he collapsed against the concrete floor. His hand searched widely for Phayu's gripping it tightly.

He really wasn't sleepy but the panic had worn him out.

He really wasn't sleepy but his eyes were heavy

He really wasn't sleepy but his head dropped down as his breathed even out in a deceitfully peaceful sleep

When Phayu woke up he felt fluttery. He tried to lift his arm to wipe the haze from his eyes but it felt stone heavy.

He let out a small groan but managed to pry his eyes open wide enough to make out a figure slumped against him. His auburn hair; a messy blob on his lap.

Rain

Getting a better look he could see Rain's face. His eyes were a puffy red mess and his nose was scrunched.

He wanted to reach out to his love and ease his pain but whatever weight had been holding his arms down clawed at him and dragged him once again down into the swirling abyss of darkness.

The next time Phayu awoke he felt a little better. The weight of Rain had disappeared but his limbs felt lighter. He tried to move but did manage more than a small shuffle in the sheets. The sheet against him tingled slightly and he let out a small moan, enough to catch tye attention of his boyfriend who had taken up residence in a small couch tucked into the corner of the room.

"Phi?" Rain said, his voice thick with sleep

"R-rain?" Phayu groaned, his voice hoarse. His throat was so dry talking made it feel like he was being stabbed with a million tiny blades right in his throat.

His boyfriend jumped from the chair and raced by his side, "I'm right here baby"

"Rain, it hurts"

Rains voice was fuzzy when he replied. It was like his ears were filled with cotton. He made out the word 'love' 'okay' and eventually 'doctor' and he could feel Rains hand in his. That means he also felt the moment his boyfriend slipped away from him, and what could only be the Doctor placed a calloused hand on his forehead.

Before Rain could return he felt himself getting woozy, his eyelids becoming heavy and the words of the Doctors blurred into a gentle humming in the background.

And yet again his world faded into black

Phayu was out again - not that he'd really been awake before

The Doctors assured Rain that his boyfriend would be okay.

He injuries would take a while to heal; broken ribs; road rash

But worse of all a happened when a police women entered the room and told Rain that it wasn't an accident

Wasn't an accident

The words echoed in his mind

Someone tried to kill his Phi and they were going to pay.
