The moment Vegas left Phayu turned his undivided attention to Rain.

"Baby" he muttered, leaning down the plant a kiss on Rains ice cold temple, "I'm here baby, whenever you're ready I'm right here"

Phayu didn't know how long it took for Rain to wake up. At some point they both slipped into a restless slumber. It wasn't until the sun peeked through the drawn blinds did Phayu feel Rain push away from him.

"Mmmhm, Rain?" he yawned

Alarm filled Phayu when he heard a cracked voice whisper "Sorry Phi"

"No baby" he said, sitting up quickly, forgetting about his injuries just for a second. "Fuck"

"Phayu, don't you're hurting yourself"

"I'm okay"

"Phayu"

"I am, I promise. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine"

"No you're not"

"Excuse me?"

"There's no way you can be, after last night-" Phayu shook his head, "you can talk to me"

"It's fine, I promise. I just dissociated for a little bit. I'm sorry if I worried you"

"Dissociated? It's happened before?"

"Not for a long time"

"Rain, please you need to tell me what happened. I'd never force you to do anything but I'm so confused"

"I don't know"

"That's ok, you don't need to tell me everything baby boy. Actually how about you start by ringing Khun Vegas"

"Vegas?" Rain spluttered eyes widening in shock"

"Yeah, he brought you here last night"

"Oh right, I'll-I'll call him"

Rain untangled himself from Phayu's embrace and fished his cracked iphone from his jeans while Phayu relaxed back onto the bed and closed his eyes. He heard the dial tone somewhere in the distance then Rain's sweet voice.

"Hello Appa"

Appa? How did he know Vegas,

"no no, I'm fine. I promise. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I promise it's fine. I will come see you. I haven't told him, not yet. I know he deserves it. Love you too appa, tell dad i'm okay"

Rain wanted to be anywhere else in the world.

He really didn't think Stop would trigger that small part of his mind that craved violence. No it lived for that rush of adrenaline, that flood of power that coursed through your veins.

It was part of the reason he got into racing. He needed the rush but he really didn't want to hurt people anymore. The racing helped at first but he never accounted for the type of people at the races. Violence once again became a common part of his life but this time it was for survival.

"Rain?"

Very slowly Rain forced his body to turn so he was directly in front of Phayu's bed, eyes still trained on the ground.

"I'm sorry Phi"

"Rain baby look at me"

Phayu's voice was so incredibly calm, it was like a wave of warmth washed over him. He felt comfort; comfort he didn't deserve. He was a violent monster and he'd never changed. He'd just been lying to himself. He was a mafia boy and that was it. That's all he'd ever be. Tears welled up in the corner of his eyes. So instead of looking up he just shook his head, hand reaching out to steady himself on the bed frame.
