Chapter 2: New challenge

Lightning Mcqueen radiated anger and frustration as he walked into his agency, a dark aura surrounded him and his deadly silence. Mater was hot on his tail, ready to soften the blows that Lightning was going to serve once he saw Cherry, or any of his own staff. Lightning was engraged, and he needed to unleash his fury.

Mater ran after lightning trying to calm him down.
"Lightnin'! Please calm down! Listen maybe it aint so bad! Maybe Cherry was lyin! Maybe she just lied so that y'all take her more seriously or somethin!"

Lightning stayed silent, ignoring Maters cry. Nothing could tame him now.
Lightning strolled into his office as he roughly grabs his phone and dials Cherry's number.

"Diiiiiing.......diiiiiiing...."
The phone keeps calling until a loud automated voice of a unknown woman starts talking.
"The person you called for is currently not able to pick up, to leave a message click 1-"
Lightning slammed the phone down with a growl, effectively ending the non existent call.

"I cant believe her! After everything! Especially after i won that big race! She cant just do this! Why didn't she just quit after after the race?!"

He roared with anger and frustration, honestly Lightning was more nervous and upset than angry, after everything hes won and been through  with Cherry, how could she just betrayed him like that....

Mater slowly came cautiously behind him, as if he's approaching a wounded animal. He pats Lightnings back reassuringly without saying anything. Lightning falls down in his office chair and Mater pulls up a chair to sit next to him do support.

Just as Mater was about to say some supportive words of wisdom Sally barges in with a couple of papers in hand.

"Lightning! Your new manager is here!"
Lightning feels his breathing stop as he processes the words.
"what ?"
Sally responds with vigor.
"Shes down by your garage! She just showed up without an appointment or anything! She says shes here for you!"
Lightning gulps nervously and he sprints past Sally and Mater to get to the downstairs garage as fast as possible, what is going on?
As he enters the garage he sees a well dressed woman in a sexy dark blue pencil skirt, a light blue blouse and sleek black heels. She wasnt turned to him, too busy looking through her papers but Lightning could tell she meant business. Sally and Mater ran after Lightning and slightly bumped into him because they were too slow to stop their running and excitment.
All three of them gaped at the gorgeous business woman in front of them, they were also intimidated by her and het scary aura. Although one question swirled around in their head. "Who is she?"

She turned around all of a sudden and makes a "O" shape with her mouth in surprise. She chuckled politely and walked calmly towards Lightning. She stretched her hand out for a handshake. Lightning put on his best cocky and confident face and shook the womans hand with a strong grip.
Before Lightning got a chance to introduce himself the woman beat him to it, annoying him slightly.

"Hello Mr Mcqueen. Im Y/N L/N and im your new manager."
Lightning was quiet honestly shell shocked. Who hired her even?
"Sorry if i sound rude but...who hired you?"
Y/N is not fazed by his question whatsoever and replies quickly without even thinking.

"I hired myself. Quite frankly after your previous mediocre manager quit- thankfully- i decided that you need a good change of pace, you need someone like me in your company, you're desperate, especially after you got qualified for that championship."

Lightning tries his best not to look shocked at her outrageous words. She just shows up- OUT OF THE BLUE, and says that he basically sucks! How dare she? Who does she even think she is!

Sally grabs his shoulder and spins him around abruptly and stares at him as she mutters some shocking words.

"We need to hire her."
Mater nods next to her even though Lightning doubts that he understands whats happening.
Sally continues her little rant feverly.

"I just searched her up and apparently she is one of the top managers in the state! Everyone she's ever worked for shes lead to success! Its a miracle she even chose to help us! Accept her help Mcqueen, unless you're as dim witted as the press says you are."

Lightning grumbles and feels his head heat up from all the hard thinking. Even though this woman is arrogant, rude, cocky and overconfident, attractive but- Sally does have a point. If anything maybe he could prove to this arrogant woman that he's better than her. He feels a surge of that familiar overconfident and cocky feeling as he spins around to greet the soon to be familiar face of Y/N as he smirks and says

" Welcome to Mcqueen enterprises Y/N L/N."
