Mingi was in the lounge watching some boring shows on the television and you were sitting with him trying to get rid of the boredom. First, you tried to force yourself to focus on whatever Mingi was watching, but after a while you realized that watching documentaries where a lion is chasing a deer and a man is chasing them both with his camera as if it was his only purpose in life wasn't your cup of tea.
"Min." You whined.
"Hn?" He replied, eyes still glued to the screen.
"Can you please change it?" You asked trying to be innocent and cute.
"No." Came a stern answer.
You babbled some nonsense and began scrolling through your phone. He was so caring, but no one could ever persuade Mingi to change from National Geographic to another channel. His reasoning was that dramas and movies were just a waste of time. God knows what was so beneficial in watching some animals trying to live their lives. Or some grown men trying to chase football or some older people singing songs with voices and styles that you didn't know human beings were capable of producing. He watched them with so much fondness that you had to close his mouth which would open wide during some intense scenes. You thought of another way to get his attention. You didn't mind him watching those wild creatures, but he was spending less time with you and that was bothering you. He would often spend days in the studio composing songs and you'd get very little to hear from him. Or he'd spend his entire day watching those useless things. You'd had enough.
After putting aside your phone, you went to climb on his lap. He was sitting in a crisscross manner. You kept one hand on his left thigh and your other hand was about to rest on his right when he pushed you and you fell on the floor.
"What the f** Song Mingi?" You stood up brushing your dress.
"Can you move to the side? The lion is about to attack the deer." He said pushing you to the side and looking as anxious as if his whole career was dependent on that one scene. You rolled your eyes and stomped your feet to get his attention, but to no avail. He only groaned in frustration and resumed watching the scene with his mouth wide open. That made you upset and hungry. So, you decided to go and cook something delicious for you and only you.
You got the ingredients from the fridge, washed them then and put them on the side, trying to get the pots when suddenly power went out."Y/n, where are the candles?" You heard Mingi shouting from the lounge. At first, you decided not to reply, as you were angry but then you realized that your phone wasn't on you for flashlight and the only thing you could do was to set the house on fire to be able to look in the dark considering that you were in the kitchen.
"It's in the first drawer." You replied and waited for him to go find them. After hearing some shuffling noises, you heard feet approaching you. You could make up the figure as now your eyes had adjusted to the dark. Mingi was hoping towards you breathing heavily.
"What?" You questioned."There's there's something..... Someone in the room." He uttered between heavy breathes.
"Calm down Mingi." You replied rolling your eyes. "A while ago, you were acting all sassy, now you've become a scaredy cat.
"There's reallylly someone, I'm not joking. Please, please come with me." He grabbed your arm and started pulling you towards the room. You wanted to push him away, though you were worried about him, but his attitude from a few minutes ago had left a bitter taste. Nonetheless, you followed and stood before your room's door looking at the shut door.
"Just go and see what's in the room. It was wearing white clothes and looked like a girl." Mingi pushed you towards the door and he himself hid behind you.
"You want me to go alone?" You asked, bemused. He only nodded his head in response.
"All alone?" You asked again to make sure. He nodded his head vigorously.
"Ok, scaredy cat." You huffed and opened the door wide to see what was in the room? Mingi pushed you inside the room and closed the room door.
"What the f*** Mingi?" You yelled out. However, you scanned the room and in one corner where your full length mirror was standing, stood someone wearing a white gown.
"M-mingi". You spun on your heels and started banging on the door. Suddenly, the power was restored. You didn't want to turn back, but Mingi wasn't opening the door. It felt that someone was standing near you, about to touch you on your shoulder when you abruptly turned around and closed your eyes. But nothing happened, a few seconds passed and you felt nothing. You tried to open your eyes mentally, preparing yourself for any jumpscare. Nothing happened again. You saw the same thing wearing a white gown still standing straight covering the mirror and turned to bang on the door with all the force so that it may come off when you realized that the thing was a mannequin wearing a very beautiful bridal gown. Same gown you had shown Mingi when you went to shop for your friend.
You walked to the gown to see if it was really just a mannequin wearing it. When you had reached it, the door burst open and revealed Mingi grinning ear to ear.
"What's this Mingi?" You asked feeling the fabric in your hand. He did not say anything, only kneeled down in front of you and took out a box with a beautiful diamond ring inside.
"Will you marry me, Y/n?" He asked. You could sense the nervousness in his voice and see the hope in his eyes. It took you few seconds to process what he had just said and tears of joy escaped your eyes.
"I will." You said reaching out your hand to him. He put the ring in your ring finger and stood up straight looking into your eyes. Wiping tears away he leaned in closing the gap between your lips and eventually you could feel his lips on yours. You both lived those few seconds of your life just enjoying each others presence while your lips moved softly and slowly as you had all the time in the world. After he pulled away, you stood there forehead resting against each other. Both of your eyes still wet from the emotions ready to break out as tears.
"I'm sorry y/n, I know had been giving you a cold shoulder for few days. I was just nervous. I didn't do anything intentionally. It was just my anxiety eating me up. But now everything is alright. You're with me and I don't have to fear anymore." He said holding your hands in his. You just nodded, closing your eyes, tears running down your cheeks. It was the most awaited moment of your life that had come true. You didn't have to say anything. Everything was alright, perfect with him.
