Their fingers grazed the stone lion, snagging on a crack, the cold emanating from it causing them to flinch back. They turned on their heel to the other person standing on the house's steps.
"Leo, are you sure this place isn't haunted?" They said with a cross between a scowl and a slightly scared frown.
The other person, Leo apparently, eyed them and then looked at the house. Well, it definitely seemed haunted.
Old, run down, built in a Victorian style with dark walls completely overgrown in various ivy and bushes. It's many decorative roofs were adorned with cracks or even holes. The fogged over windows were covered with spiderwebbing, with one or two of them fully broken. There was really no way for them to be in that state, no sign of thrown rocks or anything similar, they just... were. An ominous pale light, visible only to extremely keen eyes poured out of them, the path being illuminated as if beckoning them to come closer.
It looked, to put it lightly, very unsettling. And very, very haunted.
Even the statues perched by the doorway looked off, one with what could, at a stretch, be considered a smile and the other with something akin to a frown plastered on its muzzle. One crumbling, mossy and stained, the other uncannily pristine. Meant to be opposites but still resembling each other.
"I mean, it could be, but isn't that what makes it interesting?" Leo replied with a smirk. They fished out a flashlight from their pocket, hitting the back a bit when the first try of turning on was futile.
Leo walked over to the dark green door, carefully stepping as not to slip. They grasped the handle and open the door theatrically, earning them an eye roll. The other person stayed put.
"Oh come on Lils!" Leo scoffed. "Nothing bad is gonna happen!"
Lils, opened they're mouth, a stream of words pouring out."Hmm, the ghost could use telekinesis and crush us with something, posses someone, push us off the stairs, injure us using the aforementioned telekinesis..." They counted off fingers with each action.
"Alright, alright, I get it! Let's just think positive for now."
Without another word they stepped into the houses door, the overhang porch looking more like a gaping maw in the dark.
The beam of the flashlight barely did anything to help the dim lighting of the hallway. Old, rickety furniture was pushed up to the walls, scattered papers and small decorations were littered about. Leo stumbled on a broken sculpture of an eye. (Or at least it looked like it might've been one, some time ago.)
With the sounds of creaking and the musty smell of abandoned buildings accompanying them, the duo venture deeper into the house.

Grian sat on the roof, feet dangling over the edge. The sky was clear, the almost full moon shining brightly. The atmosphere made him miss the feeling of the cold night air nipping at his skin. He sighed. (Grian still didn't know how that was possible.) He was swiftly distracted from pondering the ins and outs of being a ghost by two teenagers walking down the path to his house. A wide grin spread on his face. It wasn't often people (other than the neighborhood's residents) came by. Grian stood up and fell through the roof. Oh right. He needed to concentrate to be able to walk on stuff. Letting out a short laugh, he started planning a way to scare the intruders. Pretend to be a demon?
Pull off some sort of "tortured ghost" spectacle? Or maybe just throw some stuff around? Grian decided to just wing it. He floated through the floor, listening for the sounds of footsteps. As soon as he heard someone walking through the corridor, he smirked. His ear-wings flapped in anticipation. "This'll be fun!"
