elated and mystified by the prior events, y/n couldn't help but hope that maybe lady luck had finally decided to take pity on her. such a cliche scene that could only prove worthy for a k-drama had played out right before her (e/c) eyes; with her on the receiving end. it was almost as though she'd fallen victim to some sickly-minded hopeless romantic's schemes. but she wasn't complaining, far from it.

y/n ran back to her room in haste, her giggling akin to a lovesick schoolgirl. she'd even tweeted it out to all her devout fans and followers to give them a little taste of cruise life. she quickly rechecked the time for the nth time, her senses still tingling from the excitement of being someone's unlikely vacation crush. it was 4:21; she still had 3 hours to wait out till she got to meet-

it dawned on her only then that she hadn't even gotten his name. in fact, she didn't know the first thing about her guardian angel, to be fair, neither did he but he at least knew of her alias. what if he was trying to murder her? or worse... trying to take her identity? though why would anyone want to take her life, there was not much going for her. she shook her head, she was probably just overthinking it like always. she was pretty... although she never believed the notion, kaiser never failed to reiterate reassuring; insistent; heartfelt words of her ostensible beauty. so at least to her best friend's standards, she was bound to attract some guys.

"y/n?" her mom called out to her.

"mom! you're finally back!"

her youthful-looking mother was dressed in a fuzzy white bathrobe. she gestured to her obviously pampered appearance and spun a 360. "how do I look?"

"you look dolled up!" y/n snickered cheekily. "find some guy friends?"

"as a matter of fact, yes." y/n wiggled her (h/c) eyebrows and batted her long eyelashes, a silent plea to continue. her mother rolled her eyes but indulged in her wish. she stepped into some slippers and began busying herself with tidying up. y/n followed behind closely—having always been invested in her mother's love life rather than her own—y/n did not miss a beat in prying at her mother's relations. "true to my word, I did meet a person. he was quite kind and very versed in the world of fashion. though... he wasn't exactly my age." the older woman's expression contorted into a teasing grin. "he was more... your age."

y/n ogled at the brazen woman, her jaw slack as she searched her mom's chaffing eyes urgently. "mom. do not tell me... you did that." her mother had a troublesome habit of talking her up to any boy in her age range in hopes of finding a boyfriend for her. it became an obvious issue after y/n found herself juggling the 7 talking stages her mother had introduced in just a three-week time frame. not that she needed any help—she already scored a 10 at that snack bar—but y/n wasn't about to let that slip out. she would never hear the end of it after that.
