Suzie ran with just one slipper and messy hair. She made her dad drive her to the hospital.
"What was that?"She wondered.
She never felt so petrified before!
Phil had never seen his daughter caring for someone more than herself. If the situation wouldn't have been that critical, phil would have smiled and told her that he was proud of her.
The local hospital seemed so far away
As the car moved closer to the hospital, suzie's senses moved in the opposite direction.
As soon as they reached the hospital, Suzie ran to the desk and nearly gave the nurse a heart attack.
Suzie: Todd. Where is he? Which room? Tell me now.
Nurse:calm down. I will check and let you know
Suzie: If you dont hurry, soon people would be asking about your room in the hospital.
Nurse frantically scroĺled and figured out his room number for that rude bitch standing opposite of her.
Nurse: ummm r-r-room n-n-number 241.
Suzie didnt bother to take the elevator. She took the stairs and ran like never before. At this moment she would have taken over the fastest runner of her school, Betty Cooper, in the marathon.
Room number twenty one's doorknob is as easy to open as a handle, but somehow it took five minutes for Suzie to open the door.
Todd's family had surrounded him enough that suzie could not see him, but Todd's feeble attempt of glancing at the door made him successful in spotting Suzie.
Todd: ma, Can I rest now?
Todd's ma(anna): sure hon.
Todd: Can i rest after meeting that girl at the door. Please
Anna followed Todd's gaze and she met the girl Todd always talked about. She had never seen Suzie in person. She smiled when she saw how Suzie looked at her son.
Anna while leaving, took a last glance at Suzie and gave her a smirk.
Todd: What are you doing here?
Suzie: well, I guess you had my number on the speed dial. They called me.
Todd: I dont want you to see me like this. My family came in the right time. I am weak and feeble now. So dont hate me
Suzie: see that wont be a problem considering that I have already seen you.
Those hazel eyes let out a little drop of feelings before they could stop themselves. Those beetroot lips stretched a little, to hide the crime of the hazel. Two different pair of hands touched and suddenly nothing else mattered except those priceless seconds, those unexplained sensations and the people that the hands belonged to.
The reality dawned upon them. Suddenly they had a name for this bond that they shared. A name called "unconditional love".
Todd: never knew you could cry
Suzie: well, rare cases. So does this machine shows your heart rate because your heart is beating very fast according to those creepy lines
Todd: it's you to blame.
Suzie and Todd talked for a little while and Suzie discovered that Todd is diagnosed with lung cancer for a year and a half now. He told her that he never gave up hope but his condition had worsened and he has minute chances to survive.
Todd confessed that he had never felt the way he felt for Suzie. With her he felt as if anything in the world is possible.
Few months ago,if a guy she is going out with had cancer, Suzie would have broken up with him right away but at this moment she was too much in love to fall out of it. She decided never to give up on him and spent her days left in the village with him.
After some talks and some stares
Suzie: well, I better leave. Dad is waiting.
Todd: yeah.thanx for coming and one more thing. I would love to have a cup of coffee with you.
Suzie: cool. So when?
Todd: everyday till you are here
Suzie looked at the electric blue eyes and headed towards the door smiling. Little did she realize that those electric blue eyes had lit up first time that day.
