It was an early september morning when the catastrophe occured.
She was packing lunch for Todd when the hospital called . She wondered why they had to say.
Anxious, she picked up the intercom. They told her to hurry.
That day, she had run with a slipper on but this day was more frightening which caused her to run barefoot avoiding all the pebbles that thrusted in her foot and her heart.
Reaching the hospital, she witnessed a situation that she knew would come but didnt know would come so soon. She rushed to his side
Her heart skipped a millenium. She couldnt help but notice that his breath was no longer rythmic or even tuned.
All she could see was a white sheet and sympathetic looks of the nurses.
She cried a little, laughed a little.
She picked herself up and a note fell down.
She hesistantly opened it up
He had wrote
" Dear Suzie,
Move on, the world awaits you
These tears should be of happiness when you concieve your first baby.
If you ponder here, pain will embrace you.
But if you have a little adventure of your own, life will embrace you
Happy life
Love
Todd."
She couldnt eat that day.
It took her few years to brace herself and live.
She found herself a guy who wouldnt force her to love again. She went to Rachel but this time with her father.
She had kept her promise to Todd.
She HAD moved on but with a stone in her heart.
Soon she had kids. She couldnt name any of them after HIM.
She didnt have the caliber to call his name everyday and expect someone else to reply to that name.
She stayed disconnected
And today she sees her grandchildren play in the porch
She has everything that a woman can ask for but she has nothing that a lover can seek
She yearns for him and eagerly waits for the day when she bids "the FINAL GOODBYE" to everyone and celebrate her "Happy Ever After" with him.
