-MISSION-

Seven months pregnant Wanda is pacing back and forth in her room when her five-year-old daughter Tessa said, 

"Mom, don't worry daddy will be okay."

Wanda stopped in her tracks and sat next to her daughter,

"I know honey, he has to be okay," Wanda says pulling her daughter in her embrace.

Bucky is on a mission and for the past few hours, Steve and the team have lost connection with him. Ever since Wanda heard the news she had been worried sick. She is having bad thoughts and the pregnancy hormones are making it worse. 

Since Bucky has gone on a mission, Wanda and their daughter are staying at the compound so the team can help them. Natasha and Steve tried every way to calm Wanda down but it was no use. Wanda told them she tried to connect with Bucky through telepathy but failed. And that is what's making her worried. 

Wanda is in the washroom when Natasha comes inside their room. 

"Where's your mom sweetie?" Nat asks little Tessa. 

"She's in the toilet," Tessa says sadly. 

Nat notices her mood she asks caressing her raven hair,

"You look sad, what's making our little peanut sad huh?! 

"Because Mommy is sad. Do you think Daddy is dead?" Tessa asks.

"What..?! No, Oh Honey.." Nat pulls Tessa to her lap, 

"Your dad is fine. He's gonna be home soon, I promise." 

"Okay," Tessa smiles a little.

"Why don't you go to the game room? I know you wanna play in there." Nat tells her trying to divert her attention.

"But mommy says playing so much is bad!" Tessa pouts,

"It's our little secret, I won't tell Mom, Go Go" 

"Thanks, Aunt Nat, you're the BEST!" Tessa runs away. 

Nat let out a big sigh. Wanda enters the room looking very tired. Nat stands up and helps her sit. As soon as Wanda settles down, she starts crying again. Nat hugs her and strokes her back up and down to calm her. 

"Hey don't cry, I'm going there don't worry. I'll come back with him!" Nat tells her.

Wanda released herself from Nat, "But it's dangerous how can you?"

"Come on Wanda, I've handled worse than that!" Nat smirks at her.

"But I can't ask you to put yourself in danger!" Wanda says with concern,

"You're not asking I'm going on my own. Don't think about it too much. 

"One of our members is missing so obviously we'll have a rescue mission, so you calm down now. Little Tessa is also worried because of you..." 

Nat put a hand on Wanda's belly, "And you also need to take care of yourself for our little bread here."

 Wanda smiles, "I'm sorry, it's just.." 

Nat squeezes Wanda's hand, "I understand, I'd do the same even though Mr. Big Guy can overcome anything." Wanda and Nat chuckle remembering Bruce.

"You take care, I'm gonna let Steve know about the rescue mission." Nat tells Wanda.

"Thank You!" Wanda says. 

Nat went out to tell Steve when the red alarm went off. Nat looks around confusingly, Steve comes out running. They look at each other panic in their eyes not knowing what's the new danger. Steve was about to take his shield when Friday announced that Bucky's missing jet just landed on the compound. Steve immediately runs outside and Nat follows. 

Finally, Bucky appears at the stairs of the Jet covered with bruises and cuts in his face. Steve ran towards him and helped him walk. 

"What happened man?" Steve asks Bucky with concern. 

Before Bucky could answer Nat chimes in, "You scared us, Barnes."

"Sorry, the jet got out of control and I lost the connection. Starting it back on was pure pain!" Bucky says gesturing at the jet. 

"Are you hurt anywhere?" Steve asks

"Not badly I guess but my right leg needs to be examined " Bucky replies and Steve nods.

"Your wife is in a pretty bad state!" Nat finally says and Bucky stops in his tracks. Concern filled his eyes,

"Not bad Bad, but you going missing made her nuts!" Nat clarifies Bucky release his breath and muttered "Shit" under his breath. 

"How bad? Bucky asks imagining all the stress it might put on Wanda.

"You know her.. So" Nat replied and Bucky groaned, "God.." 

"But nothing you can't fix Buck, now calm down!" Steve assures Bucky. 

They entered the compound, and Wanda came running towards Bucky. Bucky's eyes become softened at her. The moment Wanda stops in front of Bucky she starts crying like a baby. Bucky immediately hugs and takes her in his embrace.

He says, "Doll, I'm literally here, please stop crying, I'm so sorry that I couldn't reach you!" 

Bucky kept caressing her head and left soft kisses to make her calm down

"I thought something had happened to you! I thought you were gonna leave me alone I was so scared! Are you hurt? You seem in pain!?" Wanda asks in one breath.

"I'm not in pain and I am fine, see healthy and strongly standing in front of you and these little cuts, come one Doll you know your Husband can handle more than this!"

Wanda sniffles. Bucky continues, 

"and I promised you that I'll come back. Have I ever broken any promises that I have made you? No right! Now please calm down it's not good for you and little one!" 

Bucky takes Wanda's hand and kisses them. First time in hours Wanda smiled genuinely.

"Daddy" Tessa comes running towards Bucky, he bends down and picks her up.

"Hey, princess," Bucky said brightly smiling.

"Daddy you came back! Mommy was crying and me too" She hugs him tightly.

"Awe, I'm sorry love, daddy won't do that again okay." He kisses Tessa on her nose tips. 

Bucky's heart aches to think that going on a mission has had a bad effect on both his wife and daughter.  And at this crucial time, Wanda shouldn't stress this much. Then he turns to Wanda and states, 

"No more missions from today, I will not leave you guys, at least not until this little one comes out, okay?" Wanda nods smilingly. 

Bucky looks at Steve, and he also gives him a supportive nod. Steve tells Wanda to take Bucky to the medical room. Tessa goes back to her game. 

Bucky sat down on the medical bed waiting for the doctor to come,

"Doll come here.." Bucky spreads both of his hand to Wanda and she takes them and stand in front of him. 

"I'm sorry for making you feel so stressed!" Bucky says,

"It's fine, as long as you're now here with me everything's fine! But don't do that again! Or I'll be very very angry with you!" Wanda narrows her eyes at Bucky.

Bucky chuckles in return, "I promised your highness, I love you!" 

"I love you the most, Mr. Barnes." Bucky grabs the back of Wanda's neck and pulls her for a long passionate kiss.
