I walked and walked, the more trees I saw the more I kept walking, deeper into the Forest I got until I could no longer bare the pain against my feet. I fell back on to the tree and slowly slid my way down with the little amount of energy that I had left. I masked my eyes with my palms as I felt them start to well with tears. I didn't understand how my mother say those horrible things to me? I wept at the thought and began to feel pools of tears stream down my cheeks. I knew if I wanted the tears to stop I need to keep walking to keep my mind off of it. I tried to push myself to my feet but fell back down, my feet were so crippled from exhaustion that I could no longer bare the pain to go on.
I finally stopped sobbing and gathered my thoughts to try and stand up. I was still dazed from crying so much but it was getting late but I had to get moving or I'd be in more trouble if I didn't get myself home by dinner time. I started to look around to remember which path I came from and realised that nothing looked familiar. I had walked so far in to the forest everything seemed different.
"I'm lost!" I screamed and began to bawl again.
"No one will find me out here! How the hell am I going to find my way home?" I panicked.
I took a look around, still crying harder than before and noticed there were only three paths and without hesitation I took the widest path, with aching feet and teary eyes I thought about how this day could get any worse for me.
What felt like hours of walking yet still had no sight of the city lights or big houses in Kansas. Was I walking deeper in to the forest? Where could I be going? I started to think how far could I have possibly ventured into the Forrest? It was getting dark and I could barely see in front of me when I heard foot steps behind me and turned around sharply to see if there was anyone behind me, nothing!
"Is there someone there?" I yelled, nearly falling over with shock.
"I'm lost I need help" but nothing no reply.
I kept moving as started to feel more afraid. I walked for another five minutes when I heard footsteps once again.
I yell out "who is there?"
Still no one answered me, then I heard something, giggling. Tiny little giggling when I thought maybe there was a kid playing a prank on me. I felt a little rock hit me on the back of leg so I start to run, faster and faster I felt eyes following me so I pick up the speed running faster than I ever have before. I was afraid for my life. My foot snagged on a vine, my face flew straight into the ground and the side of my head smashed a huge rock, I felt like I was about to pass out, everything was starting to go white.
