Jimin's point of view

The loud chattering and laughing of my colleagues was always irritating, but today it was unbearable. But like a good human I chose to ignore them and focused on my food, I wasn't going to waste my half an hour of lunch break on these morons.

"Aye Jimin." I curled my toes in annoyance, how dare he call me so informally when I'm years older than him. I looked up while faking a smile like always.

"Are you coming for drinks after work?"

"Sorry, I can't." I replied, and focused on my lunch.

I couldn't afford to get out and get drunk. First, it was costly. I would rather invest this money to buy something for my kids instead of wasting it on some cheap meat and alcohol. Second, I have to make dinner— how will I feed them when I'm drunk and passed out? Third, I need to tutor then—wait not anymore.

Previously I used to tutor my kids after office but as we changed their school, the new school has two hours mandatory tution period, so no need for me to tutor them anymore. Their new school is better than previous, expensive but better. That's why we put Minwoo's room at rent.

My face churned in disgust as it somehow reminded me of the paying guest, Raemi. I didn't know why but just having mere thoughts of her annoyed me— but again, people always annoyed me, it wasn't her fault. She just happened to be a little weird for my taste, thus seeing her face was irritating. On top, it was disturbing how she saw me naked on the first night. I covered my face as embarrassment filled me once again.

Regretting choosing her as a paying guest wouldn't take me anywhere. She was the only one who replied to my ad on the website, and I was in urgent need of money. I could say we were sorta doing a symbiosis— she needed a roof and I needed money. And on top, she was good with my children. I was afraid the new roomer would probably won't like my kids, their lifestyle won't match with kids around them or worse, they could have been a bad influence on my kids.

The only good thing about Raemi was, two weeks into my house she has not yet broken a rule. Yes, she does sometimes laugh in the middle of night and she often stays awake throughout the night but her lifestyle habits didn't affect my kids in any negative way. She doesn't drink or cuss out loud, or she comes home late (she never leaves her room to begin with) or anything else.

Seeing her low-key good behavior I decided to let her weird habits of jumping on bed, yelling, laughing at night, roaming in the house in the middle of night and not eating food on time aside.

Who am I to judge her anyways?

The only problem that was eating me up was, she was too friendly with my kids. A little too friendly for my liking.

I crumbled a rough paper on my desk as I remember how Minhee was sitting beside Raemi while she was teaching how to draw cartoons. It wasn't a big surprise seeing Minwoo laughing and drawing his favorite cartoon character but Minhee? I remembered how my eyes bulged when I saw my daughter, who hates anything like this quality time (even with her dad) enjoying her time with a stranger she probably hated.
