"Come on. There's so many things to see." Ron said with a smile, knowing this was carls first day here.

"How long have you been here?" Carl said, still in awe of this place.
"A while. It's really beautiful, right?" Ron said, not wanting to explain that his mom was the president.

"Yeah, it is. I've never seen any place like it." Carl said, referring to its sheer size.
"Really? Where are you from?" Ron said, leading Carl towards the library.
"Alexandria." Carl said, looking at all the people around them.
"Where's that?" Ron said, having never heard of it.

"It's a community. Much smaller than this. Closer to fifty people rather then five thousand." Carl said, assuming that was about how many people lived at the commonwealth.
"Actually, there's more like fifty thousand here. At least that's what the last census said. Forty thousand, six hundred twenty three. That was a year ago though." Ron explained.
"Wow! Really? No way." Carl said, in shock.
He couldn't even imagine such a large number of people.

"Yeah, really. We're here. This is the library, one of my favorite places. You'll love it!" Ron exclaimed, opening up the door.

"Woah. This is a lot of books." Carl said, looking at a few of them.
This library dwarfs Alexandria's, much like the population here and there.
"Yeah. People keep bringing new ones in, but the library isn't that big. I keep finding room, somehow." Ron said, obviously loving this place.

"Are you the librarian?" Carl asked, picking up one of the old books.
"Umm.. well, yeah. I kind of am I guess. I had never thought of it before." Ron said, wondering how he didn't notice before.
"That's pretty cool. I don't have a job yet." Carl said softly.
"I'm sure you'll find one. There's always something to be done around here." Ron said smiling.
"I hope so." Carl whispered, mostly to himself.

"What do like to do? Maybe I can help." Ron said politely, smiling.
"I like blacksmithing. A man named Earl taught me how a while ago. He's gone now." Carl said, looking at an old red book.

"I'm sorry. That's terrible. blacksmithing is very useful, and we don't have many of them. I'm sure you'll find work easy. I can look around for any openings later." Ron said, intending to look through his mom's files, or maybe ask her.
"You would? Thanks!" Carl said excitedly, hoping he could become part of the community.

The door swung open, Sebastian walking in with an unhappy air about him.
"Ron? What the fuck are you doing?!" He said in a angry tone, finding his brother with Carl.
"Oh.. I was just showing Carl around. He's new here." Ron replied, gesturing to his new friend.
"Carl? Ron come here. I need to talk to you alone." Sebastian demanded.

"Ok." Ron said, the two stepping outside.
"What the fuck?! You're showing some random guy around? Alone? Do you know what mom and Mercer would say? You're going to get killed!" Sebastian said, no one ever sure if he was actually worried about his little brother, or just controlling.
