Harry Potter walked down the Hogwarts halls toward his next class; Potions. Suddenly, he heard a voice behind him.

"Pottah!" Draco Malfoy called to him from behind. "You better not mess up the potion this time, or else! I can't believe Professor Snape made us partners."

"It's not my first choice either, Malfoy." Harry said, sighing as both boys walked into Professor Snape's potion class. They realized they were a few minutes late when they saw everyone already seated with their books opened. They both tried to sneak in without being seen, but they soon heard Snape's booming voice.

"Potter, Malfoy, you're late." He said.

"Sorry, professor." Both boys said in unison, which made them turn to each other, then back to Snape. A small blush creeped across Draco's face and tried desperately to hide it, seeing the whole class was currently staring at him and Harry.

"Detention for both of you and ten points from Gryffindor." Snape said and all the Gryffindor Students immediately started arguing and shouting out.

"They're both late!"

"So why are you only taking points from Gryffindor?!"

"C'mon! That's not fair!" Snape sighed at all the yelling out.

"SILENCE!" He yelled, giving everyone a piercing stare. "Five points from Slytherin." All the Slytherin's sighed a little, but were relieved it wasn't ten and the Gryffindor's were relieved the Slytherin's got at least some points taken.

"Potter, Malfoy, proceed to your seats." Snape said, turning back toward the board as Harry and Draco sat down next to each other at the two-person table with one caldron.

"Today with your partners, you will be brewing Veritaserum. A very powerful truth potion." Snape said. "Open your books to page 464, on which you will find the ingredients and instructions for Veritaserum. You and your partner will be doing this together by yourselves, with no help or advice from other groups. Ingredients you may or may not are on either of these tables. Glowstone Dust, Redstone Dust, Blaze Powder and Magma Cream are on the table to my right. Spider Eye, Fermented Spider Eye, Nether Wart, Ghast Tear and Sugar, the table to my left. Come grab them as necessary. Is everything clear?"

"Yes, Professor Snape." The students chorused.

"Very well," Snape said. "Get to work." He sat back down at his desk and started scribbling on a piece of crumpled paper with his quill as the class raised into quiet chatter with their partners. Harry and Draco open their books to page 464 as instructed. They read the few pages that contained the ingredients and instructions briefly by themselves then turned to each other.

"We need Jobberknoll feathers, whatever those are-" Harry started but Draco cut him off.

"Do you not know anything, Potter?!" Draco asked. "A Jobberknoll is a Beast byproduct. A Jobberknoll Feather is used to create traits and upgrade equipment. Also sometimes used for strong potions." Harry sorta stared at him, causing Draco to look away, flustered.

"...Ok."

"Dimwit."

"Hey!" Harry said. "I didn't grow up around a wizard family; It's not really my fault that I don't know certain things."

"We learned about them before!" Draco protested. "If you actually paid attention in class-"

"Malfoy, Potter!" Snape yelled. "Stop arguing and do your work somewhat quietly." Harry nodded as Draco muttered something that sounded like, 'Stupid dipshit...'.
