chapter 2

a week had passed since Sam got admitted to med and finally she was able to be discharged, I had gone to work during the day and came to stay with her during the night, whenever had spare time I would go to my apartment and put together her room, she told me all the things she's interested in so tried my best to customize her room to her level of comfort. Finally I was able to take her home after shift and show her where she would be living which I was excited and nervous for at the same time.

"You going to pick up Sam?" Kim asked me as I got my things gathered up.

"Yup, she's finally able to be discharged, she's nervous but I know she will be fine once she sees her room I'm pretty sure she will get comfortable relatively quick." I said.

"How's Sam doing with the pregnancy and all?" She asked as we made our way to the parking lot.

"Shes still pretty unsure about it but over time I'm sure she will get used to the idea, she's starting to show a little to now that shes getting some weight back on her, Will pumped her up with calories so she should be up to snuff now." I said. 

"Well she's lucky to be staying with you, I mean I'd be scared to see what you would do if anyone tried doing anything to her." She said chuckling.

"Oh if anyone dared to touch her again their gonna wish they'd never met me." I said tossing my bags into my car.

"Well good luck Erin, I'm sure she'll settle in relatively quick." Kim said getting into her car.

"Yeah I hope." I said starting up my car.

I made my way to the hospital with ease as I drove, I could barely contain my excitement as I drove and I could only wonder what my future would hold, the first night I went home after I agreed to take her in I was nervous and scared mainly about messing up or saying something wrong to her but over time I became excited by her arrival, yes she was going to be an armload given she was pregnant but I didn't care, all I wanted was to make sure she felt safe and that she was comfortable with me. I stopped at a coffee shop on the way to pick up a hot chocolate and a donut for her.

"Erin you got this, hank did it for you you can do it for Sam." I said to myself as I pulled into the hospital parking lot.

I got out and made my way inside, I never really liked hospitals but over the week I got accustomed to it quickly, I made my way up to Sam's wing and as soon as she saw me I saw that spark in her eyes become set alight.

"Hi Erin." She said cheerfully.

"Yeah hi Erin." Natalie said from her seat, I noticed a sketch book spread out over Sam's lap and I saw the most striking picture of some sort of creature on it, it made me wonder what kinds of beautiful fantasies this kid had.

"Why hello Sam, your very perky today." I said putting my things down.

"Yeah I feel alot better today, I didn't feel like puking at all this morning so that's good, plus Dr. Manning has been keeping me company to. She said, it amazed me how much she progressed when she was having panic attacks less then a week ago, she was shattered and silent and now shes perky and talkative.

"Yes Sam's been doing pretty good today, she says the marathon headaches are gone and her morning sickness has not come as much, shes progressing alot faster then we thought she would." Natalie said taking out her stethoscope.

"See Sam, all you gotta do is just be strong." I said.

"Alright sam I just need you to take a few deep breaths in." Natalie said putting the stethoscope on her chest.

"What's this?" I asked Sam picking up her sketchbook.

"Oh it's just a thing I was drawing, don't ask me what it is because even I don't know." She said slightly chuckling.
