5| A totally normal game of Capture the Flag

The next few days came and went, and Y/N had formed a routine along with making a few friends outside of just Percy. One of them being a girl named Silena. A daughter of Aphrodite and in Y/N's (very humble) opinion one of the nicer ones. The two had hit it off during a Pegasus grooming class and had become pretty close ever since. Making friends had always been easy for Y/N, so when they cliqued it didn't necessarily surprise the boy but how close they had become definitely did. If Y/N wasn't with Percy, he was with Silena.

Along with the other camp activities, Y/N had begun taking lessons in Ancient Greek from Annabeth alongside Percy every morning. It was during those lessons' Y/N found out Annabeth was indeed right about his dyslexia: Ancient Greek wasn't that hard for him to read. At the very least, no harder than English. After a couple of mornings, he could fumble his way through a few lines of Homer without the urge to bang his head against a wall.

The rest of the day, Y/N would rotate through outdoor activities, looking for something he was good at. Chiron tried to teach him archery, but they found out fairly quick that he wasn't the best with a bow and arrow; Not awful but not a child of Apollo either. It was more or less the same for foot racing; he wasn't bad, but the Wood Nymphs completely dusted him.

Much to his (And Percy's) surprise; wrestling was where Y/N found a pretty decent amount of success. Though, that's where he had a up close encounter with the Clarisse girl Percy had told him about the other day.

"Great! Another punk I get to cream!" Clarisse said when she noticed Y/N walk in next to Percy.

She clearly had expected to beat Y/N to the floor judging by her surprise when she couldn't just run through the young male, so he was fairly proud of himself to have given her a pretty decent fight.

Throughout the day, Y/N could feel the senior camp counselors watching him, trying to figure out who his godly parent was and it seemed that they had landed on at the very least three options: A child of Ares because he was indeed fairly athletic, A child of Demeter due to his way with vines but that also brought the fact he could a child of Dionysus— and gods know Y/N didn't want that to be the case.

Regardless, Y/N really liked camp. He'd had gotten used to the morning fog over the beach, the smell of hot strawberry fields in the afternoon, even the weird noises of monsters in the woods at night. He'd would eat dinner with Percy and cabin eleven, scrape part of my meal into the fire, and try to feel some connection to whoever his godly parent was.

Thursday afternoon, three days after he'd come to Camp Half Blood Y/N, he had his first sword fighting lesson. Everybody from cabin eleven gathered in the big circular arena, where Luke would be their instructor.

They began with basic stabbing and slashing, using some straw-stuffed dummies in Greek armor. Y/N did good to start, having no trouble following the directions he had been given.

Next, they moved on to dueling in pairs where Y/N paired up with Percy since it was the first time for the both of them.

While their blades swung, Luke constantly instructed them. "Keep your guard up Percy!" he called while Y/N placed his right foot up and jabbed piercing a weak point in Percy's defense. "Not that far up! But look, he got confident lunge forward and hit him." following his advice, Percy caught Y/N right in his ribs but as retaliation, Y/N moved his right foot back a little and brought his sword under Percy and brought them both up before bringing his sword to Percy's ribs. Clank!

By the time he called break, Y/N was completely soaked in sweat and his muscles ached. Especially the places Percy had hit him. He'd definitely get him for that later. Next, to Y/N who was nearly done with his bottle of water, Percy poured water on his head and Y/N noticed how it seemed to be like a second breath for Percy, like he'd been rejuvenated.
