Aurora paced back and forth in the room, her arms tightly folded across her chest. Nervously, she bit her lip, unaware of what Alonso might be doing to Deion just a few feet away. She hoped he wouldn't do anything reckless, like causing harm or worse, killing him. While she didn't care about Deion and believed he deserved whatever was happening to him, she couldn't bear the thought of Alonso ending up in prison because of something that had happened to her.
Her mind raced with conflicting emotions as she continued to pace, her footsteps echoing in the room. Deep down, she knew that Deion had brought this upon himself with his actions, and a part of her even felt a twisted sense of satisfaction at the thought of him getting what he deserved. But there was another part of her, a flicker of compassion and loyalty, that didn't want to see Alonso's life derailed because of her.
She glanced anxiously at the clock, the ticking sound heightening her unease. Time seemed to stretch endlessly, each passing second intensifying her worry.
Aurora had been lost in her thoughts for quite some time when a sudden knock on the door jolted her back to reality. Startled, her gaze snapped towards the source of the sound. As the door swung open, Slim entered the room, a lit blunt held casually in his hand and a clear annoyance etched across his face.
Slim's presence sent a wave of tension rippling through the room, intensifying Aurora's already heightened state of unease. She knew that Slim at least knew something and could potentially shed light on the situation unfolding with Deion. Aurora instinctively straightened her posture, trying to appear composed despite the uneasiness that gnawed at her insides.
Silently, Slim made his way further into the room, his footsteps barely audible against the floor. The faint scent of marijuana mingled with the air, adding an element of surrealness to the already charged atmosphere. Aurora's eyes darted from Slim's annoyed expression to the blunt in his hand, her mind racing with questions about what he knew, what he had seen.
"Come on, Alonso wants to see you," he said, motioning toward the door.
As Aurora began walking towards the door, Slim's hand halted her progress, his eyes meeting hers with a cautious expression.
"Here's the thing, when you meet Alonso, it's not really Alonso you'll be talking to. It's Top, Alonso's other personality Just be careful," he advised, urging her forward.
Aurora's heart pounded in her chest as she followed Slim down the dimly lit hallway. The air felt heavy with anticipation, and each step only deepened her sense of unease. She stole a glance at Slim, searching for any hints of reassurance, but his face remained stoic and unreadable.
