You, Newt and Brenda walked out and divided in the cars so it's not so cramped in one car. You, Brenda, Teresa, and Thomas are in Thomas' convertible and Newt, Minho and Aris are in his car.
You and Brenda ride in the backseat, Thomas and Tereasa in front. You decide you've probably slept long enough on the way to the hotel, so you decide to play Would You Rather with them.
"Okay," you start. "Teresa, would you rather be a royal princess but have to kiss a frog or be a magic princess but have some dude with a long ridiculous name take your firstborn?"
Teresa looked back at you with a grin. "Fairytales?" she asked. You shrugged. Teresa looked like she was thinking. "I'd kiss a frog and be royal," she decided.
Then Teresa looked at Thomas. "Tom," she said. "Would you rather kiss me, or kiss me?" she smiled foxley, and Thomas grinned at her, then pretended to think for a minute.
"That's a tough one," he said, leaning into her. "I'll have to go with kiss you." Then he kissed Teresa on the lips and she smiled, then Thomas went back to driving.
Brenda rolled her eyes. "I'm taking your turn, Thomas," she said. Thomas shrugged, saying he probably didn't care. Brenda turned to you. "Y/n," she says. "Would you rather date Newt but never talk to Minho again, or date Minho and never talk to Newt again?"
You stare at her. "Uhm, skip," you say.
"Uh uh!" Brenda protested. "You have to answer."
"Yeah, you have to, y/n," Teresa said. Out of them you thought she might back you up. You roll your eyes. "I don't know," you say. "I could never do either."
"What do you mean you could never, you couldn't ever date them or you couldn't ever not speak to them?"
"Both," you say.
Brenda looked at you for a minute. "Fine," she decides. You quietly let out a breath you'd secretly been holding.
All of you continued the game of would you rather until you arrived at the place you were all renting for the "sort-of-family-reunion" with the gladers, Brenda and the group B gladers, and a few others later tonight.
Thomas pulled up and you and Brenda got out, but Thomas and Teresa stayed in. "Tell the others we'll be back in time for the party tonight," he said.
"Wait where are you guys going?" You ask.
"Just...somewhere. We'll be back in time. Promise. Also tell Newt sorry." He snickered and then he drove off.
Brenda watched as they drove off, a scowl across her face. "Tom's been acting strange lately. Stranger than usual," she noted.
You silently agreed with her. But you just shrugged. "The only thing is it's going to tick Newt off."
You both walked into the building, where you found Minho, Newt and Aris already unpacking everything and setting up.
"Tom's gonna be here later on," Brenda said to Newt mostly, grabbing a box. "Him and Teresa."
Newt furiously turned around. "WHAT?" he exclaimed. "He promised this was the one bloody thing he wouldn't waste for time with that girl-shank!" Brenda shrugged. "He said to say sorry," she added, trying her best to keep him keep his cool. Her best wasn't very great.
"It's okay," You say, walking over to him. "He promised he'd be back for the party."
"Yeah," Newt mumbled under his breath. "Come to the bloody party, don't bother helping set it up."
"All right," Minho said. "Just slim it. The dumb shank said he'd be back, right? Then he'll be back. End of discussion. Now somebody help me set up this streamer, I'm gonna wind up lookin' like a shuck mummy at the end of the night if I do it on my own."
You chuckled and walked over to help him. "Thanks," Minho said, standing up on a chair to reach the ceiling. You handed him a piece of tape.
"You excited for tonight?" You asked him, starting a conversation. You hated silence.
"Yeah," he said. "I just hope Newt keeps his cool when Thomas walks in those doors ready to party tonight."
You nodded. "I wish that virus would stop messing with him. Why didn't it totally go away when he got the cure?"
"I dunno," Minho responded, holding the tape in the corner of his mouth while he reached a little higher for the streamer. "Something with it had already reached a certain point so he still acts like a Karen at her that time of the month. No offense," he added.
You snicker. "You calling me a Karen?" you ask jokingly.
"Oh, I was supposed to keep that to myself, sorry," he said playfully. You laugh. You both move to the other side of the room and you hand him another piece of tape.
"You, uh, you still good with sharing a bed with him tonight?" He asks, keeping his stare on the piece of streamer he was hanging up. "I can shove him on the floor or he could sleep with Aris." you decided not to dwell on the fact he had implied that would mean you sleeping in Minho's bed.
"No," you say, smiling. "It's all good, plus everything's already set up with rooming."
Minho nodded, but didn't say anything, just continue on the streamers.
By the time everyone was finishing up the final things, it was quarter-to-seven, when the party started. Group B and everyone else would be coming any minute now.
You went to the kitchen (which strangely had a mirror in it) and tried to fix your messy y/h/c hair. Newt walked over, took your hair and started brushing it out. "You have nice hair," he said. You snickered.
"Thanks," you say as his fingers took a strand of your hair and pulled it behind your ear, brushing your neck. His hand was cold, but it felt nice. You noticed he had calmed down, which was nice, especially knowing Thomas was going to be arriving soon.
"Is everything done?" you asked.
Newt nodded, carefully brushing your hair, running his hands through it more than he did with the hairbrush. "Yeah."
You enjoyed it for a few minutes, but then you told him you were going to finish your hair and then you'd be out. He nodded and walked out of the kitchen. You brushed it out, even though it was already as smooth as, well, something. You weren't very good at descriptions.
You walked out of the kitchen just as the girl gladers (or Group B) all walked in. You smiled this was going to be fun.
