Artemis pov

Me and Apollo took Percy to Hephaestus immediately as we both new he was the best at building prosthetics out of all the other immortals, and he was a brother we Apollo and I could both trust. Upon arrival we found Hephaestus working on a machine that resembled a small Talos prototype.

"What do you want?" Hephaestus grunted.

I took a breathe "I neeed you to help this boy in anyway you can. His name is Percy and both Apollo and I have adopted him as a son."

"What's in it for me?" He didn't even look up. That made me a little upset. Just a little.

"WOULD YOU LOOK AT ME WHEN I'M TALKING!" I hollered at him. "OR AT LEAST LOOK AT THIS BOY AND SHOW A SMALL AAMOUNT OF SYMPATHY! Both gods in the room looked terrified. "HE LOOKS WORSE THAN YOU DID AFTER YOU WERE THROWN OF OF FREAKING OLYMPUS! HAVE A LITTLE EMPATHY" I think Hephaestus wet his pants a little. Good. I was so busy yelling at Hephaestus that I didn't even realize that Percy had curled up into a ball in the corner looking scared out of his mind crying softly. I scared him. Great. I am an amazing mother (note the sarcasm).

"Ok" Hephaestus replied throwing the Talos prototype into his junkyard(does anyone get the titans curse reference[rest in peace Bianca, rest in peace]), the moment he glanced at Percy. He immediately got to work, but continued talking. "I can also fix his voice and give him weapons. Oh and I can fill in any part of his body that shows the inner parts of the body that aren't supposed to with metal. If he consents to that I will need you two to go round up the every metal known to both man and god."

"On it." me and my annoying twin say in union. I quickly left to go ask Percy if he was ok with the metal being in his skin but told Hephaestus that he would just use the hunts weapons when he gets older.

"Percy, I was wondering if you would be okay with putting a bunch of metal in your skin to help you feel better? Now before you answer, I want you to know that it will hurt very much to put the metal in but it might help you feel better."

"Um, ok." Percy rasped. I wanted to cry for this little boy. Yes, I Artemis wanted to hold this little boy cry and never let go. Just then my aunt Hestia appeared.

"Artemis, may I please ask who this little guy is and why he has such little hope?"

"Well, for the first part of the question this is Percy Jackson, demigod but we only know his mortal parent, Sally Jackson,  I have a gme and Apollo adopted Percy and now Hephaestus is going to fix some things, mechanically, of course. As for the later I can't tell you the first because I have not looked through his memories to find the whole truth."

"How about we do that right now." Aunt Hestia said as she gently grabbed Percy's fingerless hand and put him to sleep in her arms while the memories flickered into a clear image.

Time skip

When the memories caught up to when I showed up I turned it off and told Aunt Hestia the rest of the story. To say I was furious was a blunt lie, I was beyond murderous and aunt Hestia being the sweet kind genital goddess she is was sobbing and hugging Percy fiercely, just then he woke up and when he saw aunt Hestia.

He said, "Please don't cry."

Aunt Hestia sobbed even harder not because he did something wrong but, because even after all the abuse, and the rape, and the death of his mom, which is his earliest memory, Young Percy who has only ever Known death, and destruction, pain and sorrow, and has always been on the other side of hate, still learned on his own to be kind and helpful, to heal rather than hurt, to give life rather than take it, he is a true survivor, because not only did his body survive but so did his mind and spirit even if it was just by a thread. tears started down my face as well.

By the time I was back with Percy, Apollo had already gathered all the materials and Hephaestus looked ready to work. "Ok Percy I'm going to start with attaching the prosthetics as they will be the least painful."

"Actually Mister, I was wondering if you could put the metal in my skin first." Percy says in his shy rasp.

"Oh, but that will hurt the most,"

"I know put I want you to do it from most painful to least because then I can forget about the pain sooner."

"Ok. but first I would like to give you my full blessing so that it won't burn you or melt you it will only hurt really bad. Ok?"

"Ok."

"I Hephaestus god of the forge and fire give Perseus Jackson my full blessing."

Hephaestus got to work, when he started to pour the liquid into Percy's unnatural holes, Percy screamed so much less than I thought he would. In fact he didn't scream at all, he bit down on his bottom lip and didn't make a sound. How odd. After the first five he completely ignored the pain and had a nice calm talk with aunt Hestia without a trace of pain in his raspy voice, if I didn't know any better I'd say that he only had a very sore throat and was very excited for an unknown reason.

I hated how he could just be chill. I'd rather him express his pain or throw a fit and be a normal demigod child and scream. The thought of how he doesn't scream at a godly level of pain scares me, how high is this kids tolerance, I mean it might even be higher than mine. Poor kid. Right then and there I decided to do my best and try to make it so that Percy will never have to use his high pain tolerance to much if ever, he will hopefully be mommy's little boy, maybe forever.

By the time I was pulled from my thoughts Hephaestus was explaining the use of the prothesis fingers and toes he made for Percy. "Now Percy it will take time to learn how to use them properly and they may be uncomfortable, you may struggle with balancing and picking things up. However when you can use them I made them so that you can hurt anyone trying to hurt you and if you want to you can even kill them. This way no one will ever be able to hurt you the way Gabe did. Ok?"

"Ok. Thank you Mr. Hephaestus." Percy cringed when Hephaestus brought up Gabe.

"Just Hephaestus is fine. Actually if you want you can call me uncle Hephaestus."

"Ok uncle Hephaestus." Percy replied with a few giggles and zero rasp in his voice. I was so happy I waned to cry.
