"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." Dr. Seuss
"Dae Dae, it's not what it looks like. I can explain-" As soon as I saw him, I stood up and was just about to explain something that I really didn't know how I would explain but then he interrupted me. "No need to explain. I saw everything..." He said sighing. "Everything? Really?" "Yes, everything. I know that you're so clumsy." He replied giggling. Thank God, he was giggling. "Are you okay, though?" He asked worriedly. "Oh yes I am!!" I answered and then, "I am also okay, don't worry." Sanha said sarcastically, still in that position. Oh God, I totally forgot about him! But wait, how could he be so hot even in that state?
Daehwi helped him stand up and looked at me. "Somin, seriously why are you so clumsy and reckless? You should know that Sanha won't be there for you all the time. What if something happens to you?" Daehwi was literally being a protective dad or something. "Hey Dae Dae, it was just for once-" and Sanha looked at me with 'seriously look' oh right, it happened before too... "Okay, maybe twice but I'm not a kiddo anymore. I can handle it alright?" I defended myself right away. "Somin, you're a kiddo, we all know that duh." Daehwi was seriously being too much. I couldn't let him tell the weird things about me in front of Sanha. "Why are you here?" I changed the topic quickly. I mean yeah there are moments that I become a little kiddo. But who isn't even like that? It's not like all adults do adult things all the time, right?
"You forgot your phone, man. So I thought I could come and give it to you andddd ask why you didn't even say a bye to me." He handled it to me. Gosh I am such a dumbo. I could feel Sanha's gaze on me. "Oh...Look, I'm sorry, I didn't want to wake you up cuz you don't like it, that's why..." I explained. "Oh, I am getting late to the meeting. I'll see you later ok?" He said rapidly and waved at Sanha and left.
"Somin, do you have feelings for Daehwi or something?" Sanha asked. WHAT? OKAY I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT HE ASKED ME SUCH A THING OH MY GOD WHAT! How could he ask such a thing while I had a crush on him. Okay maybe much more...I also dunno what exactly I was feeling about Sanha. But it was such a ridiculous question! On top of that, Daehwi also asked if I had feelings for Sanha. What happened to these two?
"Excuse me? He's been my best friend for years. I only see him as a friend. How can you even ask such a thing?" I was furious. "I dunno, it's just you two are fighting like a couple and it seems weird that you're just friends." "BEST FRIEND! I DON'T HAVE ANYONE ELSE BUT HIM AS A FRIEND AND YOUR QUESTION WAS SO DAMN IRRELEVANT WHILE I-" And then I stopped. Oh shot. That was close. "You?" He asked. "L-look I'm sorry... I just didn't like it when you asked such a question. I didn't mean to shout at you." I felt guilty. "It's okay. It was my mistake to ask personal questions. Sorry for that..." He was pouting again helppppppppppppppp!
And after that talk, that day actually passed perfectly. Sanha was behaving me surprisingly so nicely. He helped me carry heavy books. When I got tired, he told me to rest and he would take care of the rest. And then we went to a cafe cuz it was break time. We ordered chicken and french fries. I learnt that those were also his favorite. I learnt a lot of things about him like he could play guitar and sing. That was so cool. He promised that he would sing and play guitar sometime. I was so excited. And the way he ate chicken... It was the cutest thing I'd ever seen. His lips was in the shape of a beak and it was like a little bird was in front of me. Well, maybe not little- because he was a giant actually. But somehow he looked tiny in that state. And that was cute.
After we went back, I started reading my new novel and Sanha was talking on the phone outside. It was his mom. She was wondering if he could handle the job or not haha. And after a while, he came back.
"What are you reading?" He sat beside me. " Oh, you startled me... It's Pride and Prejudice." I showed the book. "So what's it about?" He continued asking. "It's about two people who are in love with each other but they just can't be together because of their prides and prejudices." I sighed. "Oh well, that's pretty sad, but if they truly love each other, their love will find its way eventually. It always does." He said. "But they are too blind to see the reality. The male character confessed his feelings to her but she refused him because of her prejudice even though she was in love with him just the way he was. Because she thought the man was full of pride. I mean that's a Jane Austen book, so of course they will be together in the end. But they have to harm each other like this until they become together..." God, did I talk too much? "Hey what are you, a professor or something? How can you be so good at analysing this stuff?" I giggled at him. "But well, sometimes life doesn't give you the chance to see the whole book. You only know the part you read... Look, we all are humans. And that happens. But as I said, love always finds its way." He smiled. "You're talking like you're so experienced. Do you have a girlfriend?" Yes that was a great chance to ask this. So he wouldn't suspect me. "I did have one in the past. I thought she was the one. But no, I'm still looking for the one." He said and I could bet my heart never skipped a beat that much in my whole life. He was charming and it was great that he didn't have a girlfriend. He was on a quest just like me.
"Can I borrow this book?" Someone came and pointed the book I was reading. Both Sanha and I was startled by the question. "I'm sorry, i didn't want to scare you. But both of you described the love in the book so perfectly that I couldn't stop myself from asking. And I think you're such a cute couple." She said. Wow. Us...A cute couple? "No, we're not a couple actually." Sanha explained. "Yeah, and even, we just met yesterday. I barely know him." I added. "Oh, i see, I'm sorry. But still the reason why I'm borrowing this book is totally you two. You inspired me." She was being so cuteeee. "Okay, thank you. You can borrow it. I'll read some other book. Because now I know how it will end." I looked at Sanha and he smiled at me. After lending her the book, some other people started to come. It was pretty hectic after that. But I liked this working with Sanha thing. I already got used to that. I hope he stays with me for a long time.
Later that night, when I went home, I was so tired. I just wanted to sleep so I directly went to bed. But something was keeping me awake... I kept thinking about Sanha. His smile, his eyes, his lips, his behaviors toward me... Even thinking about his name was making my heart flutter. Sanha, Sanha, Sanha, Sanha... The room was so dark and yet I could imagine Sanha's figure right in front of me. He was shining brighter than anything else. He was smiling at me. I was so damn tired and yet I didn't want to sleep because I was scared that my beautiful dream would end. But eventually I fell asleep with the hope of seeing him while I was asleep too.
The next morning I woke up with a big sadness. I saw Sanha and me in my dream. He was giving me flowers. But they were not normal flowers. They were forget-me-not flowers...
