Year - Unknown ; Location - Shadow Realm

"Gust", Aurelius Dawnbreaker looked at his second son, "That will be the name." At the time Aurelius did not realize what Gust was, or the possibility of greatness... All he knew was Gust was his new son and it was all he cared about. His mother was already... long gone... nowhere to be seen, Aurelius told the other gods that she was killed defending the realm. Nobody ever truly knew what happened to her. Gust, not knowing who or where he was, just stared at the distant sky outside the walls of the castle. He never knew what his future would hold.

16 years later

Gust looked at his reflection on his sword, it was a very dull sword. Aurelius pointed to an old and dusty looking test dummy, "try breaking that with your sword, it should be easy", he said. Gust nodded, but when he tried to hit it, the sword shattered into what seemed to be a thousand pieces. Aurelius went silent, but then looked at Gust with a slight bit of irritation in his eyes, "It is okay.. just try again", he said blandly. He handed Gust a new sword, it appeared to be a bit more durable than the first one. Aurelius stopped him for a moment before he could strike to show a demonstration, "You need to be in a sort of agreement with your blade, almost feel like you are the blade.. then..", he paused and shattered the test dummy. Gust stood in shock and amazement at what he had just witnessed. He closed his eyes then struck a different test dummy, the sword cracked again and there was but a small cut on the fabric of the dummy. Aurelius had an internal rage growing, Gust looked back at him for a brief moment with no expression then nodded, "It is an improvement", he managed to say. Aurelius looked at him with a stern look, "Power does not come from a small tear in the fabric", he began, "IT COMES FROM SHATTERING YOUR FOES UNTIL THEY BEG AND SCREAM FOR MERCY, LIKE THIS", he reduced the dummy to a pile of sand. "NOW TAKE THIS BLADE, AND STRIKE PROPERLY", Aurelius shouted. Gust nodded shakily, "So.. what is the catch to this...", Gust asked fearfully, "I did what you told me to... but it feels like an issue of the blade, not me.." Aurelius got on his knee, down so he could be face to face with his son, then slapped him in the face, "This is an issue of strength... you are weak...", he said in a psychotically calm voice. The air around Gust suddenly felt thin, "You d-don't mean that do you...?", he stuttered. Aurelius picked up Gust by the front of his shirt and threw him to the ground, "I MEANT EVERY WORD OF IT YOU WORTHLESS NOBODY", he shouted, "YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THIS FAMILY..." He walked away and left Gust sitting on the ground. Some time later Gust finally got back up, he had a feeling there was more reason as to why his father was abusing him and treating him so harshly. "Why are you still here", Aurelius stared Gust down, "Why can you not be as good as your brother, WHY DID YOU NEED TO BE A HYBRID AND NOT A TRUE SHADOW DEMON", he finished. After all of the abuse, it made sense. Gust was not wanted by Aurelius. Later that night he jumped out the castle window and tried to run when he was stopped. "You are not leaving... I am banishing you", his father said to him, "you are not gonna remember anything from this realm, I am trapping you in the overworld", he finished. Gust began to feel dizzy as he fell to the ground, his vision getting more blurry every second... then everything went black.
