It was quite peaceful.

Not any sound but the birds chirping and the wind rustling the leaves.

My footsteps echoed off the trees and my breath became short and sharp. I had already started formulating a plan... go to the council, talk to them about men in general, change their minds then start a revolution... maybe. I don't know what I'm doing but they do. At least I hoped they did...

I studied the necklace more closely... what was so important about it? A Small necklace?

It had a triangle of blue stone that shone like the sea. It was a goldy sort of colour with crystals around some of the edges. It looked old. It reminded me of the Ocean in my Grandmother's stories. I had never been to the ocean before but my Grandmother had described it in magical ways. My mother always said it was nonsense but I believed every word. I promised myself that I would see the ocean. My grandma said I could accomplish great things with water.

I'm pretty sure she is accomplishing a great slow death. But all the same.

I was nearing the town now, I didn't know what to do... who to tell. My gut said to my mother and my gut is normally correct.. reluctantly I climbed over the river and past the houses until I reached my home. I slammed the door and leaned against the rough wood as I smelt the familiar shrouding.. the burning candles, the furnished wood and the floors. Felt like home. My Mother rushed up to me.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" She yelled into my ear, scooping me up in her arms. " I have been WORRIED SICK about you! It's almost Dark and... BOYS..." She shivered, her tone quickly changing. She sat me down at the table and served me some carrot soup. "Where have you been...?" She asked again, worry etched in her tone. "I..." I saw my grandmother in the corner. She looked at me, her eyes widened then she quickly shook her head. My mother HAD reacted badly earlier so...

"I got lost track of time," I said, thinking quickly while staring at the ground. "I was thinking about that boy while I walked In- I mean... around the edge of the woods." My mother stared me down. "I thought I said that conversation was over?" She whispered, in a dangerously quiet voice. "I know but the boy looks so peaceful, and he was hurt and I met-" My mother cut me off. "You WHAT? Who did you meet? THIS BOY!!!"

"No! But I have been thinking about him... are you sure-" My mum cut me off AGAIN! "DELTA! What have I said about this?! To your room, now!" I knew it was hopeless. I rushed to my room, thumping on the stairs and slamming my door. I slumped on my bed, I could not believe her! She never listens to me!! I sighed.
