The next day, Lilith and Edalyn were rushing out of their home into the backyard to fly on their staffs! Azura walked with them and gazed up to them with a smile, happy for them but also hiding a bit of jealousy.

'I'm sure I'll get one some day...I know I will.' She thought.

She felt upset, she's the oldest, but the very last one to get a staff, it was obvious that she was jealous.

"Hey, honey, something wrong?" Boscha asked, looking at her oldest daughter.

"Huh? Mama?" Azura asked, popping out of her thoughts.

"I know that look, I've seen it before on your mami." Boscha said as she kneeled down next to her. "Don't be afraid to come to us if you have a problem, we can help."

"It's just... they have staffs and are having fun, but I'm just here on the ground." Azura said.

"Azura, you're only ten, I didn't get my staff until I was fifteen." Boscha said.

"Really?" Azura asked her mother.

"Really. So don't worry about not having a staff now. All good things come to those that wait." Boscha said, tussling her hair.

"Besides, you don't need a staff to be a powerful witch." Boscha said.

"But you have a staff. Mami and mommy too." Azura said to Boscha.

"But trust me when I say this, they were VERY powerful witches before they even thought of getting staffs." Boscha said to her. "A palisman doesn't make you a strong witch, it just gives you a loyal friend like no other."

"Okay, mama." Azura said.

"Besides, they can't come help make cookies when they're practicing, can they?" Boscha asked, grabbing Azura's hand and guiding her into the kitchen.

"Cookies?!" Azura asked with excitement.

"Yep. Cookies. Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, mini marshmallow monster." Boscha said, listing various cookie flavors from earth and the demon realm.

"Oh! Oh! What about ferocious fudge? White chocolate chip?" Azura asked her.

"You are so much like your mother." Boscha said, tapping Azura's nose.

"Ahahahaha!" Azura laughed, completely forgetting her worries about not having a palisman staff yet.

Boscha was right, her time would come and she just had to be patient. Outside, the cardinal watched Azura through the window, waiting for the right chance, whether it be minutes, months, or years.

'She is the one, she is my new witch.' He thought, gazing down at Azura with a small smile.
