Hey guys!

Glad you are reading this! XD

So this chapter is short. I know, but I have my reasons.

1. I felt I would be dragging this chapter if I made it longer. So a lot of it has been cut off, and some of it would be used for the next chapter.

2. I am expirementing with misunderstandings in this chapter, so if this chapter is bad. i apologize in advance. I promise I'll do better in the next chapters. :)

So anyway. I hope you like this chapter! Please let me know what you think! Vote if you like and comment if you have something you want to say in this chapter.

Enjoy...

I stopped under a stop light. My hand was flat on the pole as I tried to catch my breath. Damn, I shouldn’t have run so fast. My wounds were throbbing along with my heart beat.

I dared myself to look back, and sure enough Alana wasn’t there. I might’ve lost her a while back in the park but I didn’t pay attention then, all I cared about was not letting Alana catch me.

I was afraid of what I would do. Did I even see it correctly? Alana was kissing that damn guy, Carter.

I swore under my breath as a car honked at me.

“Are you going to cross or what?” A guy appeared from the window of his car. He looked drunk, like way drunk. Fumes from his cigarette was drifting out of the window and mixing with his breath. Damn, that’s nasty stuff. “Are you a retard?”

I cursed under my breath again. “Have some common sense. Does it look like I want to cross?” I said some other stuff as well, but I couldn’t process it in my head.

The guy got out of his car, slamming the door behind him. “You talk big don’t you, kid?”

A bunch of cars honked, telling him to move his car. Instead, he slammed his hands on my chest, before grabbing me by the collar. “What’d you say?”

I cringed, shoving his hands off me. Then I threw a punch. The guy landed on his back, his hat flew on the middle of the road.

The guy managed to pick himself up and took a swing at me. Obviously he missed, not because of my reflexes but because he was too wasted to move properly.

The guy’s words were slurred as he cursed. I punched once more in the jaw.

The next thing I knew was I was arrested. A cop was somewhere in the traffic jam and had coincidently decided to check out what was making the entire ruckus.

“The damn guy provoked me,” I said, crossing my arms over my chest as I eyed to cop. My eyes were intently focused on his. Unfortunately, he didn’t appear the least bit intimidated.

“Aren’t you a lucky fella to have connections.”

“I don’t need ‘connections’ because I am innocent,” I snarled. “Just ask one of those drivers. They all saw it!”

The cop ignored my suggestion and began scanning through my files. “Joshua Grey…huh?” He snorted. “Your family seem to be living large, but unfortunately for them they have a person like you in the family tree.”
