Chapter 10: Decisions

"Beeee beeee" the ambulance came.
They were brought to the hospital.

"Auntie? Your daughter is in the OT(operation theater)...I m sorry I failed go protect her." Tears rolled down Nicholas cheek.
"I rushed to the hospital after getting a call from Shannon's boyfriend, was its you(are you Shannon boyfriend)?"Shannon's mum was anxiously asking, she and Nicholas haven't met each other before as their schedule was different from each other and had no time to meet each other.

"Yes auntie I m Shannon boyfriend, Nicholas." Nicolas smiled while drying his tears.

"It's not your fault,lets wait here while they are operating okay! No negative thinking now!" Shannon mum tried to cheer herself and Nicholas.

"So I heard a lot about you from Shannon! And she kept smiling when she talks about you. Thank you Nicholas. You brought back my cheerful and happy daughter... Treat her well, I know sometimes she may be very sensitive or too aggressive ... I feel very grateful for what you done to her, and brought back her smile , she used to be very quiet at home, she lost her dad, around 4 years ago... Okay very mind about that but do you know what happen to her? What happen? Please tell me!" Shannon's mum start tearing as she talked about Shannon

Nicholas pov:
Shannon dint talk about her dad... hais Park Chanyeol Nicolas you are so stupid!

"Auntie...it's my fault, I love Shannon a lot, I could not ask for a better girlfriend, it was my fault, she misunderstood me, she thought I was hugging this girl name Rebecca, she misunderstood everything,she was reckless, I tried to stop her but she did not listen, she kept running, till that happen..." Nicholas tried to hold back his tears but he was too heartbroken.

He told the whole story to Shannon's mum and Shannon's mum did not blame him nor get offended.

"AUNTIE! NICHOLAS! WHAT HAPPEN!" Victoria came running, she panted, "I rushed from dancing class to here after hearing the news! What happen!"
Nicholas told the whole story to her while Shannon's mum get some drink for them.

"How is Shannon now? Is she okay? She's okay right? She should be! Is her her lifeeee in danger? VICTORIA shut up. Nicholas I m going crazy please tell me I can't lose her!" Victoria kept crying.

"She is still in the operating room...there is still no news." Nicholas whispered.

It has been 4 hours...the operation was still going on,as Nicholas was about to go to the toilet , the Doctor came out from the room, the operation was successful.

"Doctor how is she?" "Is her life in danger?" "Will she be okay?" Shannon's mum, Nicholas and Victoria kept asking but the doctor kept quiet.

"Are you Shannon's mum? I would like to speak to you privately." The doctor looks concern.

"Your daughter is alright now, but she may be in coma, she is in a vegetable stage now, chances of her living is 50/50.be prepared, I m sorry." The doctor bowed and walk away.

Shannon's mum heart sank, she drop on the floor, Victoria and Nicholas ran to her, they both knew what was going on just by seeing Shannon's mum face.

"Shannon, she she she is in a vegetable state...."Shannon's mum cried her heart out.

Shannon was sent to the icu(intensive care unit) as she might lose hope anytime as its was 50/50. Nicholas did not cry nor do anything, He stayed at the hospitals for days and days, he would sleep, study,eat and then go to school,while Shannon's mum take over when he is at school. he knew that Shannon's mum was weak at that point so he decided to take care of Shannon.victoria looked after her mum.

"Shannon, I love you.on that day, it wasn't what you think, to be honest me and Rebecca used to be a "couple" when we were supper young but our relationship lasted for 1 day and from that day onwards she always bullied girls who are closed to me... She hugged me on that day because her dad was sick, I wanted to reject it but since I knew uncle, so I just hugged her back, she told me to not breakup with you and love you more then anyone else. I hope when you wake up you will forgive me. I m sorry, I love you." Nicholas held Shannon hand tightly and tears was flowing out from his eyes.

The doctor came in, he said "Shannon's condition is getting worser,is either we pull her tube out or just let it be, but she may be suffering."

"YoU WANT MY DAUGHTER TO DIE? DOCTOR PLEASE SAVE HER!" Shannon mum kneeled and beg the doctor but the doctor could not do anything.

After much consideration Shannon's mum decided to pull the tube,as she does not want her daughter to suffer.

"Shannon's mum please I beg you don't do it , Shannon will wake up! "Nicholas begged And begged and her mum gave in, "Shannon please wake up we are all counting on you"Victoria said.

5 days later.

It was Victoria turn to take care of her, it was after her dance practice so she decided to take a nap, all of a sudden, she felt something touching her...
